Robert R. Becker Jr., 36, a substitute teacher’s aide and volunteer assistant junior varsity boy’s basketball coach at Franklin Central School in Franklin, New York has been indicted by a Delaware County Grand Jury on allegations that he had sex with one underage girl and attempted to have sexual contact with two other underage girls.

Becker was indicted on Thursday, arrested on Friday and jailed without bond pending arraignment today.

Becker is reportedly facing 3 counts of third-degree rape, 1 count of third-degree criminal sexual act, 4 counts of endangering the welfare of a child and 1 count of second-degree attempted sexual abuse on allegations of the sexual abuse of 3 females all under 17-years-old.

Reportedly Becker came to the attention of authorities when one of the girls came forward to school administrators, who then referred the case to authorities.

09/17/08 - Case Update

Robert Becker Jr. has made an initial court appearance and entered a not guilty plea to all charges.

Becker is currently free on bond.

09/27/08 - New Indictment Means More Charges

Robert Becker Jr. has been indicted on four more charges of child sexual abuse, including first-degree rape.

Becker was arraigned Friday on felony charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and misdemeanor charges of second-degree unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Meagan Belnap, 20, a temporary worker at Syringa Middle School in Caldwell, Idaho has been indicted by a grand jury on four counts of sexual abuse of a child.

Belnap reportedly worked as a “tracker”, a person that takes care of special needs students by following them around to class, reading to them and otherwise assisting them around school.

It is alleged that during the last school year that Belnap inappropriately touched one child and engaged in inappropriate conduct with three others.

Belnap came to the attention of authorities when a school resource officer reportedly “heard rumors” from students regarding Belnap. An investigation was begun and the results turned over to prosecutors who in turn took the case to the grand jury.

Following her arrest and booking, Belnap was being held in the Canyon County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.

Mark Yarmey, 52, of Louisville, Kentucky, a 10th- and 11th-grade electronics teacher at Prosser School of Technology in New Albany, Indiana has been charged in Louisville with use of a minor in a sexual performance and first-degree sodomy.

It is alleged that nine years ago Yarmey took nude pictures of a then 11-year-old girl and while the girl’s mother was allegedly in the room at the time. It is further alleged that when the girl’s mother left, that Yarmey forced the girl to perform oral sex upon him. It is also alleged that Yarmey scanned at least some of the pictures into his computer.

Reportedly the alleged victim, now 20, came forward some time ago and an investigation was undertaken which required some time to complete.

Following his arrest Yarmey was held on $35,000 bond.

Reportedly the arrest report indicates that when investigators showed Yarmey some pictures, and when asked if he took them, Yarmey said, “If they were in the same series, then I took them.”

Yarmey has been placed on paid administrative leave by the school.

04/15/08 - Grand Jury Indictment

Mark Yarmey has been indicted by a grand jury in Louisville, KY on counts of sodomy and use of a minor in a sexual performance.

Yarmey remains free on $35,000 bond.

Vicente Pecina, 35, a cafeteria worker at the Northbrook Junior High School in Northbrook, Illinois has been arrested and charged with 50 counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse and seven counts of possession of child pornography.

It is alleged that Pecina sexually abused a now 15-year-old boy up to 50 times during a 15-month period.

Reportedly the alleged victim was not a student of the school system.

Police executed a search warrant at Pecina’s home and seized computer equipment. Allegedly files containing child pornography were discovered on at least one of the computer drives removed from Pecina’s apartment.

Pecina is not an employee of the school system. He was an employee of a private food-service provider for the school district.

At an initial court appearance today, Pecina’s bond was set at $750,000 and he remains jailed.

Pecina’s next court appearance is set for April 28th.

Ricardo Espinoza-Valdez, a temporary food service worker at Saguaro High School in Scottsdale, Arizona has been arrested after he allegedly admitted “upskirting” female students.

Espinoza-Valdez came to the attention of school officials when a student reported that he was taking pictures of female students’ legs and buttocks by placing a camera phone within inches of their skirts.

On Tuesday the Saguaro principal and vice principal allegedly caught Espinoza-Valdez engaged in the same activity with another female student. They confronted him, seized the camera and notified the school resource officer. Espinoza-Valdez was detained at the school and interviewed by sex-crimes detectives.

Espinoza-Valdez appeared Wednesday in Scottsdale City Court on three charges of suspicion of disorderly conduct. Police are investigating possible felony charges of voyeurism.

Espinoza-Valdez is a Mexican national whose green card has expired. He is being held in the Maricopa County jail on $1 million bond.

Espinoza-Valdez was not a direct employee of the school district but was employed through an outside agency called Executemps Southwest Inc. of Phoenix and operated a lunch kiosk for the Scottsdale Unified School District.
