Anthony Eugene Tollison, 27, of Pell City, Alabama and a teacher’s aide at Pell City High School has been arrested on charges of second-degree rape.

The alleged victim is reportedly a female younger than 16 but older than 12.

Tollison works with special education students at the high school.

The district attorney’s office says the rape was not connected with Tollison’s job at the high school or with the Pell City School System.

If convicted Tollison faces up to twenty years in prison.

Following his arrest Tollison was released on $2,500 bond and is scheduled for arraignment on July 30th.

09/27/08 - Tollison Indicted A Second Time

Anthony Tollison, currently on bond on the second-degree rape charge has been arrested for allegedly selling drugs within 3 miles of an elementary school.

Reportedly Tollison was indicted for the unlawful distribution of a controlled substance and the unlawful distribution of a controlled substance near a school campus.

Following his arrest Tollison was being held without bond pending a bond revocation hearing sought by prosecutors.

10/21/08 - Guilty Plea and Sentence

Anthony Eugene Tollison today pleaded guilty to second-degree rape and the distribution of a controlled substance counts as his trial was getting underway and a jury was seated.

Under the plea deal with prosecutors Tollison was sentenced to five years in prison on each count with the terms to run concurrently.

As part of the plea deal prosecutors dropped a third charge, distribution of a controlled substance within 3 miles of a school.

Tollison was permitted to remain free on bond pending a probation hearing on December 11th.

12/11/08 - Probation Granted

St. Clair County Circuit Court Judge Charles Robinson today placed Anthony Tollison on three years probation rather than sending him to prison to serve a five year sentence.

The judge indicated that his decision was in part, based on a probation report and letters sent to him by people on behalf of Tollison.

The judge said Tollison was mentally challenged himself.

The judge said, “I think if he was in school, he would be in a special needs class. I believe he would be terribly mistreated if he were to go to prison.”

Man charged with 2nd-degree rape

Roxanna Guadalupe Mata, 23, an educational assistant at Armand Larive Middle School in Hermiston, Oregon has been arrested on suspicion of rape and sex abuse.

Mata was arrested on two counts of sexual abuse II and two counts of rape III, all of which are Class C felonies under Oregon law.

No victim information other than there are two alleged victims is available initially. The rape III charges imply victims under 16-years-old.

Police do not believe that the alleged crimes were committed on school grounds.

Following her arrest Mata was held in the Umatilla County Jail on $50,000.

Mata has been placed on administrative leave by the school system.

12/05/008 - Guilty Plea and Sentence

Roxanna Mata has pleaded guilty and been sentenced to three years of probation.

As conditions of probation, Mata can not have contact with children other than her own, she must also perform community service, write letters of apology to her victims and take part in an alcohol program.

Mata will be requird to register as a sex offender.

Vito Granieri, a Information Technology teacher/aide and occasional substitute teacher at St. Eleanor’s School, in Collegeville, Pennsylvania has reportedly been arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching a student.

Reportedly Granieri is charged with indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, unlawful communication with a minor, unlawful restraint and harassment.

Granieri was arrested by Collegeville Police and arraigned today with bail set at ten-percent of $100,000 and conditioned upon Granieri having no contact with the alleged victim, the alleged victim’s family, the school or other teachers at the school.

Reportedly Granieri was placed on suspension November 13th when school officials became aware of the investigation.

A preliminary hearing for Vito Granieri is scheduled for December 2nd.

11/29/08 - Additional Charges Filed

On Wednesday, Vito Granieri was arraigned on new charges of indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of a minor, unlawful contact with a minor and harassment.

The new charges allege inappropriate touching incidents that occurred with two 9-year-old boys at the school between September and November of this year.

The two boys allegedly told authorities Granieri started touching their genitals in the second-grade when Granieri was with the boys in the school’s computer lab or in the lunchroom. The boys have also told investigators that Granieri placed candy in their pants pockets during the alleged inappropriate touching.

Reportedly Granieri is now free on $250,000 bond awaiting a preliminary hear on all charges.
