Courtney Wallace, 40, a teacher’s aide at the Alternative School in Bluefield, West Virginia has been charged on allegations of the sexual abuse of a student.
Reportedly, Wallace is charged with two counts of sexual abuse by a custodian and two counts of third degree sexual abuse.
Wallace came to the attention of authorities by way of allegations made Monday by a student at the Alternative School.
Following his arrest, Wallace was held in the Southern Regional Jail in lieu of $50,000 bond.
Reportedly, Mercer County Schools has terminated Wallace’s employment.
08/31/10 – Sentencing
As a result of his earlier guilty plea to two counts of first degree sexual abuse and one count of third degree sexual abuse, Courtney Wallace has been sentenced.
On the third-degree offense, Wallace was sentenced to 90 days and credited for time already served which completed the sentence.
On the two first-degree counts, Wallace was sentenced to an intermediate prison term of from one to five years with the sentences to run consecutively.
Once released from prison, Wallace will be required to serve twenty years on supervised release and register as a sex offender for life.

Theresa Edna Smith, 42, a teacher’s aide at Kittanning High School in Kittanning, Pennsylvania has reportedly been arrested on allegations of she had sex multiple times with a 17-year-old male student.
Reportedly, Smith was arrested Friday morning on a charge of corruption of minors. She appeared before District Judge James Owen for arraignment and was released on her own recognizance.
According to a State Police spokesperson, it is alleged that the sex happened on three days, not in school, but in a car parked on back roads while Smith was giving the boy a ride home.
It is further alleged that a school bus full of students saw the two having sex on one of the back roads.
A preliminary hearing for Theresa Smith is scheduled for Wednesday.
Laura Michelle Gallegos, 38, a former teacher’s aid at Shasta High School in Redding, California has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having sex with at least one juvenile male and having exchanges of sexually explicit text messages with another juvenile male.
Gallegos turned herself in to Glenn County officials on Tuesday and was booked into the Glenn County Jail on numerous charges including two counts of exhibiting lewd material to a minor, three counts of contacting a minor to commit lewd acts, two counts of arranging meetings with a minor to commit lewd acts, one count of oral copulation and two counts of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor.
Bail for Gallegos was set at $110,000 and she was subsequently released on bail. Gallegos is scheduled to appear in Glenn County Superior Court on September 21st.
Gallegos arrest came after an investigation which started when the mother of a 15-year-old boy who was a member of the Orland High School wrestling team noticed her son’s cell phone had a saved contact listed as ‘GF’ with a phone number. The mother of another wrestler had received a text message from the same number, which allegedly belonged to a third mother, Laura Gallegos, who at the time was a teacher’s aid at Shasta High School. When the mother of the 15-year-old questioned her son he admitted they had been ‘sexting’ each other.

Vito Granieri, a Information Technology teacher/aide and occasional substitute teacher at St. Eleanor’s School, in Collegeville, Pennsylvania has reportedly been arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching a student.
Reportedly Granieri is charged with indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, unlawful communication with a minor, unlawful restraint and harassment.
Granieri was arrested by Collegeville Police and arraigned today with bail set at ten-percent of $100,000 and conditioned upon Granieri having no contact with the alleged victim, the alleged victim’s family, the school or other teachers at the school.
Reportedly Granieri was placed on suspension November 13th when school officials became aware of the investigation.
A preliminary hearing for Vito Granieri is scheduled for December 2nd.
11/29/08 – Additional Charges Filed
On Wednesday, Vito Granieri was arraigned on new charges of indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of a minor, unlawful contact with a minor and harassment.
The new charges allege inappropriate touching incidents that occurred with two 9-year-old boys at the school between September and November of this year.

Gary Lou Martin, 59, a teacher’s aide at Parkway Elementary School in Radcliff, Kentucky has reportedly been arrested and jailed on allegations of sex crimes committed against a 4-year-old girl.
Reportedly, Martin has been charged with two counts each of first-degree sodomy and first-degree sexual abuse.
According to a report by The News Enterprise:
Martin admitted sexual contact with the girl. The citation also states he admitted fondling her on two occasions while she sat on his lap playing a video game.
Reportedly, a not guilty plea was entered in Martin’s behalf yesterday during a video arraignment.
Following arraignment Martin was reportedly being held in the Hardin County Detention Center in lieu of $75,000 cash bond. Martin’s next court date is set for September 30th.
A school district spokesperson says that Martin is still employed by the school system but will not be in contact with students.
08/18/10 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing
Reportedly, Gary Lou Martin has pleaded guilty to charges relating to sex crimes against a 4-year-old.
Martin was sentenced to state prison for a term of 20 years.
Gary Lou Martin will be required to register as a sex offender for life.

Benjamin Janicki, 19, a teacher’s aide at Park Hill United Methodist Children’s Center in Denver, Colorado has reportedly been arrested on allegations of sexually abusing children in the daycare and preschool.
Reportedly, Janicki was arrested Wednesday on allegations of the sexual assault of one child. On Friday he was charged with the sexual assault of a second child.
Following his first arrest, bail for Janicki was set at $150,000. Following his second arrest and the discovery of a third alleged victim, his bail was increased by $500,000 to a total of $650,000.
Janicki came to the attention of police when one of the alleged victims told her parents of the alleged sexual assault.
In a probable cause affidavit submitted to the court, it is alleged that a preschooler told police that Janicki “tickled” and “licked” parts of their bodies on at least three occasions, with the alleged abuse taking place as the preschool-aged children were lying on mats in a classroom.
