James Jobin, 21, a coach and substitute teacher at Blue Mountain Union School in Wells River, Vermont was arrested on August 18th on allegations that he tried to solicit sex from a girl under the age of 16.
According to Vermont State Police, Jobin is charged with attempting to lure a minor under the age of 16 in a sexual act and disseminating obscene material to a minor under the age of 16.
At least one news report indicates that the alleged victim is 14-years-old.
Reportedly, Jobin is no longer employed by the school.
Jobin has pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Dayne Anthony Leger, 21, a substitute teacher at Carencro High School in Lafayette, Louisiana has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having sex with a 16-year-old female student.
Leger, who in addition to being a substitute teacher was also a third-generation firefighter with the Lafayette Parish Fire Department until his resignation Monday, has reportedly been charged with felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile.
Leger was arrested on Thursday and was subsequently released from jail on $40,000 bond.
Leger came to the attention of authorities when the student told an on-campus officer that she and Leger had engaged in sexual intercourse in the city of Lafayette on August 5th.
It is alleged that the sexual activity took place at a Moss Street fire station.
Reportedly, Leger in addition to resigning from the fire department has also resigned his positions with the school system.

Michael J. Scaringe Jr., 61, the director of the Saranac Lake Youth Center, in Saranac Lake, New York and an occassional substitute teacher at St. Bernard’s Catholic elementary school has been arrested on allegations of the rape a 13 year-old girl.
Scaringe is reportedly charged with first-degree rape and following his arrest was jailed in lieu of $100,000 bail.
It is alleged that Scaringe forcibly raped the girl who frequented the youth center and thus far investigators have revealed only that the rape is alleged to have occurred before Christmas.
Scaringe came to the attention of authorites when the gir told her parents of the alleged rape and they in turn contacted police.
Reportedly, Scaringe went by the last name of Josephson when he was growing up in Saranac Lake and subsequently charged his name at a later date.
The St. Petersburg Times reports that Scaringe while working as a long-term substitute band teacher at Bay Point Middle School in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1995 was charged and subsequently acquitted of molesting a 14-year-old female student.

During Scaringe’s trial in 1996, his defense attorney said the girl made up the story to avoid being punished for skipping class. He was acquitted by a jury.
Nicholas Kramer, 26, of Albany, New York, a substitute teacher in multiple school districts in the Capitol Area of upstate New York has reportedly been arrested on allegations of arranging to meet with two 14-year-old girls for sex.
Kramer was arrested after he allegedly tried to meet the young women at a predetermined location for the purpose of engaging in sexual conduct.
Reportedly, Kramer’s arrest is the result of an investigation by the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force, the attorney general’s office and state police.
Kramer was charged with a felony count of attempted dissemination of indecent material to a minor and a misdemeanor count of attempted endangering the welfare of a child.
Following his arrest, Kramer was reportedly being held in the Albany County Jail on $25,000 cash bail.
Reportedly, State Police are contacting school administrators and agencies that have employed Cramer in an attempt to idenitfy any possible additional victims.
Subsequent reports indicate that Nicholas Cramer worked as a substitute teach in the Bethlehem, Guilderland, and South Colonie school districts.
Kramer’s next court appearance is set for August 26th.

Rodney Eddy, 67, of Mesa, Colorado, a former member of the Plateau Valley School Board and former substitute teacher has been arrested on allegations that he sexually assaulted a teenage girl over a period of five years.
Reportedly Eddy was arrested on a warrant alleging 36 felonies, including sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust, a pattern of abuse, sexual exploitation of children and obscenity.
It is alleged that Eddy began sexually assaulting the girl when she was a young teen in 2003. The alleged victim came forward in May of this year. It is alleged that the sexual abuse began while Eddy’s wife, who is a teacher at Plateau Valley School, was on a vacation in Ireland.
It is alleged that Eddy sexually assaulted the girl over 100 times during the five year period and at one point allegedly gave the girl muscle relaxants and whiskey to facilitate sexual intercourse.
Investigators say that Eddy’s home computer allegedly held over 1,500 images of “possible” child pornography, including photos of the girl he allegedly sexually assaulted.

Vito Granieri, a Information Technology teacher/aide and occasional substitute teacher at St. Eleanor’s School, in Collegeville, Pennsylvania has reportedly been arrested for allegedly inappropriately touching a student.
Reportedly Granieri is charged with indecent assault, endangering the welfare of a child, corruption of minors, unlawful communication with a minor, unlawful restraint and harassment.
Granieri was arrested by Collegeville Police and arraigned today with bail set at ten-percent of $100,000 and conditioned upon Granieri having no contact with the alleged victim, the alleged victim’s family, the school or other teachers at the school.
Reportedly Granieri was placed on suspension November 13th when school officials became aware of the investigation.
A preliminary hearing for Vito Granieri is scheduled for December 2nd.
11/29/08 – Additional Charges Filed
On Wednesday, Vito Granieri was arraigned on new charges of indecent assault, endangering the welfare of children, corruption of a minor, unlawful contact with a minor and harassment.
The new charges allege inappropriate touching incidents that occurred with two 9-year-old boys at the school between September and November of this year.
