Matthew Goettler, 22, a substitute elementary school teacher in the Butler School District in Butler, Pennsylvania and an assistant high school basketball coach in the Moniteau School District has reportedly been arrested and charged with at least four felony sex crimes against children including the rape of a child.

Police say that interviews with two of the alleged victims, ages 12 and 16, and inspecting the text messages, they determined that crimes had been committed from July through August 2008.

Police also say that Goettler also played a game called the “hat of dares” with the boys. Allegedly sexual dares were places in the hat, and each boy had to pull one out.

It is also reportedly alleged that Goettler furnished the boys with alcohol and that the 12-year-old victim told investigators that Goettler has done some “nasty” things to him including getting into a hot tub naked with Goettler.

Jennifer Dawn Liskey, 38, a substitute teacher in Topeka Unified School District 501 in Topeka, Kansas who reportedly worked under the name of Jennifer Savage has been arrested on allegations of the sexual abuse of a student.

Liskey was reportedly arrested on charges of unlawful sexual relations by a teacher with a student, criminal sodomy with a child 14 to 16 years old, and indecent liberties with a child 14 to 16 years old.

The alleged incidents are said to have taken place while Liskey was working as a para-professional at Robinson Middle School where the boy was a student.

Following her arrest Liskey was reportedly being held in the Shawnee County Jail in lieu of a $25,000 cash or professional surety bond.

Christopher Ben Page, 19, reportedly a substitute teacher and sweeper in Granite School District in Utah has been arrested, jailed and charged with sexually abusing a child.

It is alleged that Sandy, Utah Police found Page in a car with a 13-year-old girl, and both had their shirts off.

It is further alleged that Page told officers that he kissed the girl and that she offered to perform oral sex upon him.

Page was arrested on suspicion of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and is being held without bail in the Salt Lake County jail.

Reportedly Page is a substitute teacher in the school district in which the alleged victim attends school at Churchill Junior High and they had been communicating via text messages.

The Salt Lake Tribune reports that a shortage of substitute teachers has forced most local school districts to hire substitutes with only high school diplomas and that substitutes are only required to pass a background check and undergo 4 hours of training before teaching.

11/11/08 - Whoopsy!

KSL TV reports that the Granite School District says that Christopher Page was an “emergency substitute” and is not even qualified to be a substitute teacher.

Supposedly, the district’s regular substitutes are required to have at least 48 semester hours of college.

Michael Jason Llanos, 25, a substitute teacher at Donna High School in Donna, Texas has been arrested and charged with an improper relationship between a student and a educator.

It is alleged that Llanos engaged in sexual intercourse with a 17-year-old female student on November 1st at a home west of the city.

Llanos came to the attention of authorities when the girl came forward to school administrators with the information.

Bond for Llanos was set in the amount of $50,000 and he could face 2 to 20 years in prison and or a $10,000 fine if convicted.

Reportedly, school administrators have told Llanos he can no longer substitute in the school system.

Ephraim Aguirre II, 29, a substitute history teacher at McLane High School in the Fresno Unified School District in California has been arrested on allegations of the sexual abuse of a minor.

Reportedly Aguirre worked at McLane High School during the 2006-2007 school year and may have worked as a student intern and/or a teacher at as many as two other Fresno Unified schools.

Aguirre was arrested on charges of oral copulation with a minor, penetration with a foreign object, and unlawful sex with a minor under the age of 18.

Reportedly police are also looking into hundreds images of child pornography allegedly found on one of Aguirre’s personal computers.
