Erica L. Baker, 24, a substitute teacher at Pfeiffer-Burleigh Elementary School, in Erie Pennsylvania has been arrested on allegations that she had a sexual relationship with a now 17-year-old female student at Strong Vincent High School.

Reportedly Baker met the girl while a student teacher in training at Strong Vincent High School. Authorities say the friendship lasted beyond the end of the school year and ultimately became sexual in nature.

Baker was hired by the Erie School District as a substitute teacher at Pfeiffer-Burleigh Elementary School in August.

Allegedly the girl, still a student at Strong Vincent High School, would meet Baker, and they would drive to the parking lot at Sara’s Campground near the entrance to Presque Isle State Park where the two had sexual contact.

Reportedly the Erie School District was first made aware of the charges on Friday and suspended Baker without pay from her substitute-teaching position at Pfeiffer-Burleigh.

The criminal complaint indicates that Baker is also known as Erica L. Mceldowney, as reportedly Baker was recently divorced.

After being arraigned on three counts of corruption of minors, all first-degree misdemeanors, Baker was released after posting bail.

09/03/08 - Guilty Plea

In a plea deal with prosecutors, Erica Baker today pleaded guilty to a single count of corruption of a minor.

In exchange for Baker’s plea, prosecutors dropped two additional counts of corruption of a minor.

Baker faces a maximum sentence of 5 years in prison and a $10,000 fine at sentencing which is set for October 23rd.

Rolando Longoria, 56, reportedly a substitute teacher in the Skidmore Tynan Independent School District in Texas has been arrested on allegations of improper photography without consent, and indecency with a child.

Reportedly, a computer and cell phone were seized during a search of Longoria’s home.

Daniel Sundstrom, 47, reportedly a student teacher at Pioneer Junior High School in Upland, California through Cal State Fullerton has been arrested on suspicion of communicating with a minor for lewd acts.

Sundstrom was arrested Thursday in connection with the stalking of a 14-year-old girl on MySpace.com.

The mother of the alleged victim said Sundstrom was an interim teacher for Pioneer Junior High School and that he started showing an unusual interest in the girl after which the mother contacted the police.

It is alleged that Sundstrom started sending the girl “inappropriate messages” through MySpace and that Sundstrom asked the girl via the Internet to meet him at Upland Memorial Park.

Sundstrom was released on bail on Friday.

Robb Arlon Hunt, 30, of San Jose, California a teacher at Homestead High School in Cupertino, California has been arrested on charges he had sex with a 17-year-old female student from Lynbrook High School, while he was a student teacher there during the 2005-2006 school year.

The inquiry began when police learned on May 17 that a student at Lynbrook High School was having a sexual relationship with a teacher and police were dispatched to the school where they conducted an investigation. It us unknown how the relationship was discovered or where the alleged encounters took place. Police allege that Hunt had several sexual encounters with the student in the last few months.

Hunt who was arrested on May 23rd has been placed on mandatory administrative leave.

04/30/08 - Sentencing Date Set

Sentencing for Robb Hunt, who pleaded no contest on February 11th, has been set for June 2.

At that hearing it will be determined if Hunt must register as a sex offender.

06/11/08 - Sentencing

Robb Hunt has been sentenced to one year in Santa Clara County Jail and five years of probation.

Judge Kenneth Barnum handed Hunt two “breaks” in not sentencing him to state prison and not requiring Hunt to register as a sex offender. The judge aid that Hunt “demonstrated remorse and a will to turn his life around”.

Ashley Esposito, 24, a former student-teacher at Turner Ashby High School in Bridgewater, Virginia has been arrested on felony charges of sodomy, and taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship.

Reportedly Esposito worked at the school from October to December of last year through a program as a student at James Madison University.

The alleged illicit activity is said to have occurred shortly after she left her job as a student-teacher. Reportedly Virginia case law states that a previous relationship can be considered if it occurs soon after the supervisory relationship ended.

Following her arrest Esposito was released on $3,000 secured bond.

If convicted she faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Esposito has a court date set for May 8.

05/08/08 - Case Continued

Ashley Esposito made a court appearance yesterday at which time a judge continued her case until September 11th.

Esposito remains free on bond.
