Julie Pritchett, 34, a former special education teacher at Clay-Chalkville Middle School in Trussville, Alabama has been arrested and charged with two counts of second-degree sodomy and one count of second-degree sexual abuse in a case alleging two male students who are under the age of consent as victims.

Police allege that Pritchett was sexually involved with at least eight male high school students ages 15 to 19 between February and April of this year. Investigators say she is charged with crimes against only two boys who were under the age of consent because the other boys are of consenting age or unwilling to cooperate with authorities.

Investigators say there may be even more victims they have not yet identified.

Reportedly Pritchett came to the attention of authorities May 2 when a parent filed a complaint with the sheriff’s office claiming his son was sexually abused by one of the school’s teachers.

Prichett was placed on administrative leave at the time of the initial allegation and subsequently resigned from the school shortly thereafter.

Authorities say that Pritchett started a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old former student and that relationship led to sex acts with his friends.

In addition to being a special education teacher at the middle school Pritchett was also reportedly sponsor of the Diamond Dolls and the Fellowship of Christian at the high school.

Following her arrest and booking Pritchett was reportedly being held on $66,000 bond.

Julie Pritchett has been released on $66,000 bond.

Reportedly some of the alleged sex acts between Pritchett and the victims took place at the school and some took place at the boys’ homes.

According to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office press release:

When the news media reported that a teacher was under investigation, Julie Pritchett changed her phone number, shut down her my-space account, and resigned from her teaching position where she was a tenure teacher.

Of Pritchett, Sheriff Mike Hale was quoted in the press release as stating, “It is hard to believe someone placed in such a position of trust would violate it so blatantly as is the case here. She is
going to pay a dear price for some terribly poor decisions, and she should”.

12/08/08 - Grand Jury Indictment

On November 7th, a grand jury indicted Julie Pritchett on two counts of second-degree sodomy and one count of second-degree sexual abuse. The grand jury indictment alleges the sexual abuse of them 15-year-old male victims.

Although the grand jury indictment was issued on 11/07/08 it was not make public until 12/05/08.

Reportedly Pritchett is free on $66,000 bond and no date has been set for the first hearing in circuit court.

Anna Huck Davis, 32, a special education teacher at Benton High School, in Benton, Louisiana has been arrested on allegations that she had a sexual relationship of at least several months with a 15-year-old boy.

Davis was arrested Friday on a charge of carnal knowledge of a juvenile after she allegedly admitted to having sex with the boy.

The charge carries with it a maximum of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000 if convicted.

It is alleged that Davis developed a sexual relationship with the boy, who attended high school in Caddo Parish. The alleged victim was not one of Davis’ students and the alleged sexual activity did not take place on school property. Reportedly Davis met the boy when she began dating his father.

Davis reportedly came to the attention of authorities when the boy’s father concerned about a possible relationship between Davis and his son contacted Bossier Schools Security Supervisor Danny Dison, who also is with the Bossier sheriff’s office. Reportedly Davis worked in the Bossier Schools prior to working at Benton High School.

Following a brief jail stay in the wake of her arrest, David was released on $20,000 bond.

Elizabeth Livesay, a special education English teacher at Carson Junior High School in Mesa, Arizona has been arrested on multiple counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

It is alleged that Livesay had sexual contact with a 16-year-old, for whom initial reports do not provide any information other than age.

Livesay was arrested at the school campus on Monday and police removed her from campus in handcuffs, reportedly while students watched.

A police spokesperson indicated that there is no indication that the victim was a student of Livesay’s or that the crimes were committed at the school. Livesay was arrested by Gilbert Police as the crimes were alleged to have been committed in Gilbert, rather than in Mesa.

Reportedly Livesay came to the attention of authorities by way of a call from a school counselor.

Livesay has been placed on administrative leave by the school system.

11/18/08 - Update

The East Valley Tribune reports that the alleged victim is a 16-year-old female and that police believe that the girl has not been Livesay’s student in the past.

Reportedly before becoming a teacher at Carson Junior High School in August, 2007, Livesay worked at Desert Sands Middle School in Phoenix.

11/21/08 - Elizabeth Livesay Officially Charged

Elizabeth Livesay has been charged with eight counts of sexual conduct with a minor, according to the Maricopa County Attorney’s office.
