Andre Johnson, 37, a former school sentry at Wilson Foundation Academy in Rochester, New York has been found guilty of molesting six boys aged 10 to 16 since 2000.

Johnson went to trial on 36 charges alleging that he sexually assaulted 10 boys from 1999 to 2006. Seven of those charges were dropped when two of the alleged victims were mistaken about the year they were allegedly abused, saying 1999 when in fact the alleged assault took place in 2000.

Johnson was tried on the remaining counts and after about two weeks of trial and two days of deliberations the jury found him guilty on 24 felony counts of sodomizing, sexually abusing and endangering the boys.

Johnson faces up to 50 years in prison at sentencing currently set for March 14.

3/18/08 - Sentencing

Andre Johnson was sentenced last Friday to a period of 29 2/3 to 39 years in prison.

The sentence was the results of Johnson’s convictions in the sexual abuse of six boys.

Dennis Edward Lucas Jr., 39, of Moreno Valley, California and a campus supervisor at Fremont Elementary School in Riverside, California has been arrested on suspicion of molesting a 10-year-old fifth-grade student.

Reportedly the girl told police that Lucas started talking to her on Tuesday and began touching her while touching himself through his clothes.

Lucas came to the attention of police after the girl’s mother complained to the school principal on Wednesday morning and the principal called police.

Following his arrest Lucas was released on $50,000 bond.

Five additional allegations of inappropriate touching by Lucas have been made since his arrest.

Lucas who monitors school security has been placed on administrative leave.

Joseph Scott Smith, 24, a Swain County, North Carolina sheriff’s deputy and school resource officer at Swain County High School was arrested and charged with four felony counts for having sex with an 18-year-old female student.

Sexual relations between school staff and students are prohibited by North Carolina statute, regardless of the student’s age.

The sheriff revealed that the incidences occurred at a motel, in a car on Sherrill Gap Road north of the high school and in a Bryson City restaurant parking lot.

The incidents came to the attention of the sheriff’s department when information was passed along from the student to a friend, who informed a teacher, who advised the principal, who contacted the sheriff’s office.

Smith was relieved from duty and placed on administrative leave at the end of April and was released from custody after signing a promise to show up for court.
