Robert Mark Fickenscher, 57, a chemistry teacher at Madison High School, in Madison, Ohio has reportedly been arrested on allegations of attempting to solicit sex from what he believed to be a 13-year-old girl.

Fickenscher was arrested during a teaching symposium at Harvey High School on a warrant from the Pennsylvania Attorney General Child Predator Unit.

It is alleged that Fickenscher and the undercover agent posting as the girl met in a chat room and were speaking between April and July and that Fickenscher and “the girl” planned to meet in the Erie area.

Fickenscher faces extradition to Pennsylvania to face a total of five charges, including attempted unlawful conduct with a minor and criminal use of a communication facility.

Fickenscher has reportedly been placed on paid administrative leave by the school system.

Daniel Salas, 30, a former chemistry teacher at Plano East High School in Plano, Texas has reportedly been indicted by a grand jury on allegations of having an improper relationship with a 17-year-old female student.

Reportedly, Salas was indicted on a charge of improper relationship between an educator and student, a felony offense which carries a sentence of from two to twenty years in prison, if convicted.

Salas was taken into custody on December 16th on allegations that he had a sexual encounter with the student at his home in October, while his wife was away for the weekend.

It is alleged that Salas admitted to having sex with the student on one occasion.

Salas came to the attention of authorities in November by way of a mutual friend of the alleged victim.

During interviews with police, the alleged victim was able to provide details of the inside of the Salas residence and to confirm information provided by Salas.

Reportedly, Salas, whose wife is also a teacher in Plano ISD, has resigned.

Brandon Brown, 34, a former zoology teacher and coach at Putnam City West High School in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of child sex abuse and child pornography.

The U.S. Marshals Service says Brown was found at a relative’s home on the Texas side of Lake Texoma near Gordonville, Texas. Brown had allegedly been in hiding for months and was being sought on a variety of charges.

Reportedly, Brown is charged with one count of child sex abuse to include producing, procuring and distributing child pornography as well as two counts of child sexual abuse. Brown was also sought on warrants accusing him of threatening a judge and a Cleveland County district attorney.

Brown was charged in June, 2008 with sexually abusing his step-daughter as well as producing and distributing child pornography.

It is alleged that a year later, he made voice recordings while in jail threatening to strangle Cleveland County Prosecutor Meredith Tipton and the judge in the case.

Brown eventually bonded out of jail and skipped town, allegedly living out of his car and moving from place to place.

Reportedly, the Marshal Service Fugitive Task Force received a tip that he was in the lake Texhoma area.

02/13/10 – Court Appearance

On Friday, Brandon Brown made a court appearance in Cleveland County District Court and had bail set at $150,000.

The state asked that Brown be held without bail because they allege he followed the child he is accused of molesting to Texas and had a clandestine meeting with her outside her grandmother’s house. The judge set bail but stipulated that Brown be electronically monitored if he gains release from jail. Brown is prohibited any contact with the alleged victim.

Scott Edwin Ring, 41, a science and mass media teacher at Ledford High School in in Thomasville, North Carolina has reportedly been arrested on allegations of the sexual abuse of a student.

Reportedly, Ring has been charged with felony counts of taking indecent liberties with a student and sex offense with a student.

The alleged incidents are said to have occurred during August and September, 2008.

Following his arrest, Ring was reportedly being held in the Davidson County Detention Center in lieu of $200,000 secured bond.

A school system spokesperson has indicated that Ring has been suspended by the school system.
