Randy Sayler, 46, a volunteer ninth-grade football coach at West Valley Junior High in Yakima, Washington, already jailed on child rape charges, was arraigned Tuesday on charges of molesting two other boys.

In September 2007 Sayler was charged with two counts of second-degree child rape of a 13-year-old boy.

On Tuesday, Sayler was charged with one count of second-degree child molestation, two counts of second-degree rape, and one count of voyeurism in allegations alleging two addition male victims.

One of the latest alleged victims, a boy now 15, has told authorities that Sayler molested him from the time he was 12-years-old.

In addition to coaching basketball and football teams, Sayler also coached a soccer team and led a traveling baseball team.

The alleged sexual assaults on players reportedly took place either at Sayler’s home or on road trips.

In one instances it is alleged that one of the assaults took place while the boy was sleeping in the same hotel room with his father, Sayler, and Sayler’s two sons.

Following the latest charges against Sayler, he is now being held in the Yakima County Jail on bonds totaling $2.2 million.

Sayler’s wife filed for divorce following his arrest in September.

05/09/08 - Guilty Plea

Randy Sayler has pleaded guilty to five counts of second-degree child rape, one count of third-degree child rape, one count of second-degree child molestation, one count of third-degree child molestation and one count of voyeurism. Sayler also entered an Alford plea (no contest) to one count of first-degree child molestation.

The pleas are to crimes committed against three boys, two 13-year-olds and one 15-year-old.

Sayler faces a minimum prison sentence of 23 years when sentenced on July 25th.

07/26/08 - Sentencing

In Yakima County Superior Court on Friday, Randy Sayler was sentenced to a minimum of 23 years in prison.

The judge indicated that this sentence was the maximum he was permitted by law to impose. The judge told Sayler that he did not know if Sayler would ever get out of prison as that would be up to a state review board.

Sayler, now 46, will be 69 years old before he is eligible to request parole.

Jeremy Ross Calvert, 21, a former volunteer band teacher’s aid at Higley High School in Higley, Arizona has been sentenced to two years in prison, lifetime probation and is required to register as a sex offender.

Last month Calvert entered into a deal with prosecutors and pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual conduct with a minor. As part of the plea deal prosecutors dropped seven additional counts of the same charge.

Calvert was originally indicted by a grand jury on nine counts of sexual conduct with a minor on allegations that he had sex with a female student in a music practice room in November 2006.

Calvert is being given credit for the estimated 530 days he’s already spent behind bars since his arrest meaning his two year prison sentence is nearly over.

Prosecutors are pursuing restitution for the girl and her family.

Ralph E. Fraunfelter, 34, a volunteer football coach at Buckeye Trail High School in Lore City, Ohio has been arrested on allegations of soliciting what he thought was a 15-year-old girl for sex.

Fraunfelter was arrested and charged with attempted unlawful sexual conduct with a minor, which is a fourth-degree felony.

It is alleged that Fraunfelter solicited Licking County Sheriff’s Detective Chris Barbuto, who was posing as a 15-year-old Newark girl, via the Internet. It is further alleged that Fraunfelter entered a Yahoo chat room and agreed to meet what he believed was the juvenile girl for sexual relations. He was arrested when he arrived at the agreed destination.

Bond for Fraunfelter was set at $20,000 and he has been suspended by the school district.

Richard Beebe, 69, of Waterford, Maine and a former substitute teacher and volunteer at Waterford Memorial Elementary School has been sentenced to 60 days in jail for possession of child pornography.

Beebe came to attention of authorities by way of an internet sting operation in which while communicating with investigator posing as a single mother of two young children Beebe indicated he got “very excited” from working around children, and touched his granddaughter’s buttocks when her mother was not looking.

Beebe sent a nonexplicit picture of a 9-year-old girl to the investigator, saying she was one of his favorite girls at the school where he volunteered. The girl was a student at the Waterford school.

The school had received complaints from parents about Beebe hugging and allowing children to sit on his lap and counseled him regarding his behavior around children.

Beebe allegedly admitted to investigators that he might have as many as 100 pictures of prepubescent children involved in sex acts. An examination of his computer revealed 132 such pictures.

Beebe will serve 60 days of a one-year prison sentence, a two-year probation, will be required to register as a sex offender for 10 years, is prohibited from possessing a computer or using the Internet, and will be subject to searches to ensure compliance.
