(09/12/08 - Initial BBT Report)

Jose F. Maldonado, Sergeant over the Junior Recruit Officer Training Corp (JROTC) at Okeechobee High School in Okeechobee, Florida has been arrested on allegations of exposing himself twice to a 16 year old student and asking her to have sex with him.

Maldonado was arrested on charges of sexual battery (solicitation by custodial authority), false imprisonment, 2 counts exposure of sexual organ and 2 counts contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

The alleged victim is a member of the Junior ROTC who has told investigators that she contacted Maldonado for a ride to and from an ROTC activity in August.

It is alleged that once the activity was over, Maldonado took the student to his office where he allegedly cornered her in a storage closet, exposed himself, began masturbating and solicited the girl for sex.

It is further alleged that when the victim resisted and demanded to be taken home that Maldonado began driving her home then started driving in an opposite direction from the victim’s home. It is alleged that he again exposed himself and solicited the victim to have sex with him and once again the girl refused and was eventually taken home.

Maldonado was arrested today and reportedly will remain in the Okeechobee County Jail without bond until his first court appearance.

09/17/08 - An Additional and Related Arrest

According to a press released by the Okeechobee County Sheriff’s Office Lawrence Walter Saucier, 61, a JROTC colonel at Okeechobee High School, has been charged with failing to report child abuse.

It is alleged that he was aware of Maldonado’s alleged sexual abuse of a student and failed to report it to school administrators and law enforcement as required by law.

Reportedly, Saucier turned himself in deputies at the Okeechobee County Jail and his bail was set at $1,000.

Ronald Barche, 47, an ROTC instructor at North Port High School in North Port, Florida has been arrested on allegations that he tried to seduce a 16-year-old girl via cell phone text messages.

It is alleged that Barche and the girl exchanged text messages and that the exchanges turned sexual in nature.

It is further alleged that the girl sent nude photographs of herself to Barche using her cell phone and that Barche propositioned her for sex in text messages.

Barche came to the attention of authorities when the girl and her mother reportedly went to police.

Barche is facing a charge of using a computer service to solicit a child.

Reportedly he is being held in the Sarasota County Jail.

(05/30/08 - Initial BBT Report)

Demetrius Busby, 45, a Jr. ROTC instructor for Sarasota High School in Sarasota, Florida has been arrested on allegations of a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old male student.

The alleged victim has told investigators that he and Busby had sex at least ten times in the ROTC office, where he also says that Busby showed him pornographic movies. It is also alleged that Busby had sex with the boy in Busby’s home.

The alleged relationship is said to have started when the boy was 14-years-old and was on-going for almost two years.

Busby is charged with two counts of lewd and lascivious acts on a child and one count of showing obscene material to a minor and is being held with out bond.

07/17/08 - Another Charge Filed”

Yesterday another count of lewd and lascivious conduct was filed against Demetrius Busby after a third boy came forward and told investigators that Busby tried to lure him into a sex act.

3/03/08 - Initial BBT Report)

Kevin B. Johnson, an assistant instructor in the Junior ROTC program at Seneca Valley Senior High School in Harmony, Pennsylvania has been charged with sexually abusing two boys enrolled in the program.

Johnson faces a total of 58 counts ranging from involuntary deviate sexual intercourse to intimidation of a witness with bail set at $50,000. The incidents are alleged to have occurred between August 2004 and January 2008.

Johnson came to the attention of authorities in January when the mother of one of the boys told school officials that her son had been assaulted.

Johnson, a retired command sergeant major who served 23 years on active duty in the U.S. Army, has been suspended without pay from the school system since the mother’s complaint.

3/26/08 - Kevin Johnson Ordered To Trial

Kevin Johnson has been ordered to stand trial on charges he sexually abused two students.

Johnson, charged with 58 counts including involuntary deviate sexual intercourse and sexual assault, remains free on $50,000 bond. No trial date has been set as of yet.

Victor Denson, 44, a JROTC instructor and drill team coach at Northeast High School, in Macon, Georgia has been arrested and charged with charged with two felony counts of sexual assault, one felony count of child molestation and one misdemeanor count of exhibiting porn to a minor.

Denson also is accused of buying condoms for a student.

All of the alleged victims are between 15 and 16-years-old.

Denson came to the attention of authorities when school officials contacted Macon police after a student came forward with the allegations.

Denson who was formerly employed as a Macon police officer has been on administrative leave since February 12th.
