Eric Grange, 45, a former teacher at the Montessori Community School in Chapel Hill, North Carolina has been convicted in a jury trial on charges alleging the sexual abuse of female students at the school in 2005 and 2006.

The victims were girls, ages 5 to 8-years-old.

Grange is a French citizen.

He abruptly resigned from the school in June 2006 when school officials questioned him about suspected abuse of girls.

Grange was arrested by U.S. immigration agents at Dulles International Airport outside Washington, D.C. approximately three months later when a warrant was issued for his arrest.

There was little coverage of Grange’s trial as the prosecution and defense agreed to bar the press from the Durham County Superior Court where the trial took place.

Werner Bloch, 41, a former teacher, dormitory supervisor and tennis coach at Admiral Farragut Academy in St. Petersburg, Florida was sentenced this morning to six years in federal prison, the result of his guilty plea in March to one count of receipt of child pornography.

Bloch’s sentence was about 10 years less than provided in federal sentencing guidelines, this after two defense experts testified he is unlikely to break the law again.

Bloch came to the attention of Immigration and Customs agents who discovered he had subscribed to a website that contained images of children having sex.

Bloch’s plea agreement indicated that he was caught ordering a subscription to the “Boys Say Go” Web site, which allegedly had images of prepubescent boys engaged in sexual activities with one another and adult men.

It was alleged that federal agents found 16,000 images of child pornography on Bloch’s home computer.

Christine Brown Jouini, 38, a teacher at the Center Academy in Coral Springs, Florida has been arrested after being accused of having had a year-long sexual relationship with a teenage male student.

Jouini is alleged to have had sex repeatedly with the boy between August 2006 and September 2007. The alleged victim was 16-years-old when police say the relationship began.

Jouini came to the attention of police when the boy confided to another teacher that he had previously had a sexual relationship with Jouini.

It is alleged that Jouini and the boy had sex both at her home and other locations off of school grounds. It is alleged that several witnesses say Jouini and the boy together off campus at various times.

Jouini turned herself in to police today. Her bond was set at $25,000.

Christine Jouini has been released from jail on bond.

07/17/08 - Additional Charge and Court Appearance

Christine Jouini has been charged with a fourth count of unlawful sexual activity for allegedly having a year-long sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male student.

Jouini pleaded not guilty to all charges and remains free on $25,000 bond.

Christopher Gordon, 23, a former teacher’s aide at Oakdale Academy, Staten Island, New York has been arrested on allegations of sexually assaulting a 5-year-old female student in his class.

Gordon was charged with sex abuse and endangering the welfare of a child on allegations that he made the girl sit on his lap and bounce, or stand with her back against the wall while he rubbed his erect penis on her body.

The illicit activities are alleged to have taken place inside the school’s bathroom.

Gorgon came to the attention of authorities when the girl’s grandmother felt the child was acting strangely and the girl told her about a “game” she had been playing with Gordon at school.

Gordon who had worked as a teaching assistant for about a year at the school was fired immediately after being arrested.

At his arraignment today, bail was set at $100,000 for Christopher Gordon.

06/17/08 - Guilty Plea

Christopher Gordon pleaded guilty today to a count of first-degree sex abuse for molesting a 5-year-old student.

As part of the plea deal, Gordon will be sentenced to 2 1/2 years in prison, after which he will serve three to 10 years of post-release supervision and must register as a sex offender.

Formal sentencing is set for July 16th.

07/16/08 - Formal Sentencing

Formal sentencing was held today for Christopher Gordon.

In court Gordon broke down in apologetic tears saying, “I’m really sorry. I never meant anything. It just happened.”

Gordon as was specified in his plea deal was sentenced to two and one-half years in state prison.

Gordon was also ordered to spend 10 years under post-release supervision and to register as a sex offender.

Craig A. Gullicksen, 59, a former teacher at St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy in Delafield, Wisconsin has been sentenced to six months in jail after being convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl.

Gullickson was convicted in Waukesha County Circuit Court on three misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree sexual assault of a child.

In addition to Gullicksen’s jail sentence he will also be required to serve three years of probation, he must have no contact with the victim or her parents and must not participate in any activity or job involving children under 16.

Gullicksen was also ordered to undergo a psychological evaluation, attend treatment and is barred from possessing pornography and unauthorized Internet use.

He will not have to register as a sex offender.
