Sarah Jayne Bridges, 24, a substitute teacher in the Eugene School District in Eugene, Oregon has been arrested and charged with third-degree rape, sodomy and sexual assault.

It is alleged that Bridges engaged in sexual activity with a male middle school student in March of this year with the alleged sexual assault said to have taken place away from the school.

Thus far the police and the school system have provided no information on the age, grade level or school of the alleged victim.

Bridges came to the attention of the police by way of school officials.

Bridges teaching privileges with the school system have been suspended.

06/08/08 - Sarah Bridges Released on Bail

Sarah Bridges was released on bail on Saturday morning.

07/16/08 - Guilty Plea and Sentencing

Today Sarah Bridges pleaded guilty to rape in the third degree and sodomy in the third degree.

Bridges was sentenced to 60 days in jail, five years probation and $1,000 in court assessments.

Bridges was also ordered to undergo sex-offender treatment, refrain from having any contact with minors, provide a DNA sample, register as a sex offender and undergo a polygraph examination upon the request of her probation officer.

07/29/08 - No Room For Bridges In the Jail

Sarah Jayne Bridges has yet to start her 60 day jail sentence, reportedly due to no room in the jail.

The Deputy DA says that the sentence would likely be short because of jail overcrowding.

Colby Lee Molan, a health and physical education teacher at John F. Kennedy High School in Mt. Angel, Oregon has been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with an 18-year-old female student and having sexual contact with a 14-year-old female student.

Molan was booked into the Marion County Jail on charges of official misconduct and third degree sex abuse.

Molan was placed on administrative leave by the school system.

05/21/08 - Arraignment

Colby Molan has been arraigned on charges of official misconduct and third degree sex abuse.

Molan requested and will be allowed visitation with his children under conditions set by the Oregon Department of Human Services.

07/07/08 - Guilty Plea and Sentence

In a plea deal with prosecutors Colby Molan pleaded guilty to third-degree sex abuse. In exchange for that guilty plea prosecutors dropped a charge of official misconduct.

Although no jail time was included in Colby Molan’s deal, Judge Timothy Alexander told Molan that he got a “tough draw behind the bench”. Judge Alexander went on to say that he had no patience with child abusers and that he has a harsh view of sex offenders and people who abuse positions of authority.

Judge Alexander sentenced Molan to six months in jail. Molan was also ordered to have no contact with his victims.

Reportedly his teaching license will be revoked and he must register as a sex offender.

Molan began his jail sentence on Monday.

Roxanna Guadalupe Mata, 23, an educational assistant at Armand Larive Middle School in Hermiston, Oregon has been arrested on suspicion of rape and sex abuse.

Mata was arrested on two counts of sexual abuse II and two counts of rape III, all of which are Class C felonies under Oregon law.

No victim information other than there are two alleged victims is available initially. The rape III charges imply victims under 16-years-old.

Police do not believe that the alleged crimes were committed on school grounds.

Following her arrest Mata was held in the Umatilla County Jail on $50,000.

Mata has been placed on administrative leave by the school system.

Andrew Scot Bolsinger, 41, a former teacher and coach at the Willamette Valley Christian School in Brooks, Oregon has been arrested on allegations of rape, sodomy, sexual abuse and custodial interference in a case alleging a then 16-year-old female student as the victim in 2000.

Bolsinger was arrested on Friday.

He came to the attention of authorities as the result of the alleged victim coming forward.

1/31/08 - Freed On Bail

After the rape and sodomy charges against him were dropped and his bail amount reduced to $250,000, Andrew Bolsinger has been released on bail.

2/05/08 - Indicted and Fired

Andrew Bolsinger was indicted on four counts of second-degree sexual abuse.

He was fired from his job as the editor of a community newspaper.

3/15/08 - Not Guilty Plea

On Friday Andrew Scot Bolsinger entered a not guilty plea to four counts of second-degree sexual abuse.

Bolsinger was also served numerous subpoenas issued last week by a grand jury investigating his financial dealings unrelated to the sex case.

His next court appearance is set for April 9th.

05/28/08 - Court Looking for Andrew Bolsinger

Reportedly Andrew Bolsinger is missing.

Apparently the court has been unable to contact Bolsinger at any of the phone numbers or addresses listed in court records.

Bolsinger’s “disappearance”, while free on $25,000 bail on felony sex-abuse charges, could jeopardize his freedom.

At this stage Bolsinger is NOT being reported as having jumped bail, only that the court is trying to contact him and has been unable to do so.

The next court date in his case is currently set for June 18th.

John Lulay, 59, a retired teacher from Sublimity, Oregon who worked as a substitute teacher in the North Santiam School District has been indicted for the sexual abuse of a child under the age of 14.

Lulay came to the attention of authorities in February and a three month investigation was begun.

Lulay was arrested May 5th in the wake of a secret grand jury indictment on two counts of first-degree sex abuse.

Following his arrest Lulay was arraigned on May 9th and his bail was set at $100,000.

Reportedly an initial date for his trial was set for June 13th.
