Guilty

(04/30/08 - Initial BBT Report)

Daniel G. Frick, 38, a music teacher at Morristown Central School in Morristown, New York has been arrested for allegedly engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a female student.

Frick has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, which is a class A misdemeanor.

It is alleged that between July and October 2007 Frick engaged in hand-holding, kissing and other inappropriate behavior with the student.

Following his arrest Frick was held in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.

He has been placed on administrative leave by the school system.

05/02/08 - Authorities Say Sex Was Legal

Police and prosecutors say that Frick’s relationship with an underage student became sexual and legal after she reached the age of consent.

They are pressing ahead with charges alleging inappropriate contact, ranging from holding hands to kissing when the girl was 16-years-old.

Reportedly Frick remained jailed in lieu of $5,000 bail or a $10,000 bond as of Thursday afternoon.

08/01/08 - Guilty Plea to Misdemeanor Charge

On July 17th, Daniel G. Frick pled guilty to a misdemeanor charge of child-endangerment.

Sentencing is set for October 2nd.

10/03/08 - Sentencing

Daniel Frick has been sentenced to 60 days in the St. Lawrence County Jail and three years of probation.

Frick will be permitted to serve his 60 days of jail time on weekends, this reportedly so that his jail sentence does not interfere with his job.

Cara Dickey, 30, a former teacher at South Buffalo Charter School, in Buffalo, New York has turned herself in and been arrested on felony charges of unlawful imprisonment and promoting a suicide attempt. She also faces misdemeanors charges of endangering the welfare of a child.

On a Monday in mid-June, Cara Dickey disappeared after being suspended when school officials suspected an improper relationship between her and an eight-grade male student. Apparently the 14-year-old boy left the school unnoticed on the same day.

Dickey came to the attention of authorities when both she and and the student were reported missing.

Dickey was found by police Tuesday morning asleep in her vehicle in Springville, NY. The boy was found unharmed, in a Hamburg, NY mall.

The following day, Dickey was fired by the school.

It is alleged that Dickey, the married mother of three, made an agreement with the 14-year-old that both would commit suicide.

Bail for Dickey has been set at $5,000. She was accompanied to court by her husband.

07/28/08 - Grand Jury

The case of Cara Dickey has been sent to an Erie County Grand Jury.

Dickey was charged with unlawful imprisonment, promoting a suicide attempt and unlawfully dealing with and endangering the welfare of a child

10/02/08 - Cara Dickey Facing New Charges

Cara Dickey is facing new charges of second-degree rape and criminal contempt.

Dickey is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail pending a felony hearing Tuesday.

It is alleged that Dickey had sexual relations with a 14-year-old male during the summer of 2008.

The latest allegations against Dickey are the result of the boy’s father learning of the alleged contact and going to the authorities.

Dickey was under court order to stay away from the alleged victim.

(2/27/08 - Initial BBT Report)

Paul C. Chiarella, 38, a teacher at Niagara Falls High School, in Niagara Falls, New York has been charged with third-degree sexual abuse and endangering the welfare of a child on allegations that he had sexual contact with a 16-year-old female student.

Niagara Falls Police say that the teacher and student had a two month relationship and that Chiarella came to their attention after the alleged victim’s mother complained to school administrators and the school passed the information on to police.

Chiarella who is reportedly on paid leave from the school turned himself in to police this morning, made an initial court appearance and was released on $1,000 bail.

Chiarella’s next court appearance is set for April 2nd.

Both charges against Charella are misdemeanors carrying a maximum punishment of one year in jail.

05/20/08 - Defense Attorney Seeks Dismissal

Chiarella attorney James J. Faso says he will file a motion to dismiss both charges against his client because the information provided by the DA’s office is too vague and lacked specific information such as dates and times of the alleged offenses. Fasco says he can not defend his client in the absence of specific information.

Robert R. Becker Jr., 36, a substitute teacher’s aide and volunteer assistant junior varsity boy’s basketball coach at Franklin Central School in Franklin, New York has been indicted by a Delaware County Grand Jury on allegations that he had sex with one underage girl and attempted to have sexual contact with two other underage girls.

Becker was indicted on Thursday, arrested on Friday and jailed without bond pending arraignment today.

Becker is reportedly facing 3 counts of third-degree rape, 1 count of third-degree criminal sexual act, 4 counts of endangering the welfare of a child and 1 count of second-degree attempted sexual abuse on allegations of the sexual abuse of 3 females all under 17-years-old.

Reportedly Becker came to the attention of authorities when one of the girls came forward to school administrators, who then referred the case to authorities.

09/17/08 - Case Update

Robert Becker Jr. has made an initial court appearance and entered a not guilty plea to all charges.

Becker is currently free on bond.

09/27/08 - New Indictment Means More Charges

Robert Becker Jr. has been indicted on four more charges of child sexual abuse, including first-degree rape.

Becker was arraigned Friday on felony charges of first-degree rape, first-degree sexual abuse and misdemeanor charges of second-degree unlawful imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child.

Quentin Lindsey, head varsity baseball coach at Byram Hills High School in Armonk, New York has reportedly been arrested and charged with second-degree unlawful surveillance, which is a felony.

Although the exact nature of the allegations against Lindsey have not been revealed, reportedly rumors at school Friday were that that cameras were found inside the girls locker room and that a teacher had been arrested.

Police have thus far refused to reveal any information other that to say that recording had been done on persons who had a reasonable expectation of privacy and was being done without the victims’ knowledge or consent.

Lindsey has reportedly been suspended and barred from the school.

Reportedly Lindsey was arraigned and subsequently released without bail.

09/23/08 - Guilty Plea

Quentin Lindsey pleaded guilty today to illegally filming female students in school between January 1st and June 1st of last year.

Lindsey was not sentenced to any jail time but must follow terms of sex-offender probation for one year to receive an additional five years probation at his sentencing next year.

In addition Lindsey must surrender his teaching license within 30 days and is prohibited from being on school property or contacting Byram Hills faculty, students or parents.

Lindsey resigned from his position at the school yesterday.
