(04/13/09 – Initial BadBadTeacher.com Report)

Scott Buatti, 43, a teacher and girl’s basketball coach at Timberlane Regional Middle School in Plaistow, New Hampshire has been indicated by a Rockingham County grand jury on 10 counts alleging the possession of of child pornography.

The indictments allege that Buatti possessed eight video files of naked girls on his home computer along with two digital photo files of children engaged in sexual acts.

Reportedly, authorities received a tip from federal investigators that led local police to Buatti in February 2008 at which time police seized his home computer.

Rockingham County Attorney James Reams has been reported as saying that Buatti had videos and photos of young girls not much younger than those he taught, engaging in sex.

Buatti, who has taught at Timberland since 1989, has reportedly been placed on administrative leave by the school system.

10/15/09 – New Indictment

Scott Buatti has been indicted on 10 new charges stemming from 10 computer files containing child pornography allegedly found on his home computer.

Buatti was previously indicted on 10 counts of possession of child pornography pertaining to the same files. The new indictment is on 10 counts of attempted possession of child pornography.

The new charges do not require prosecutors to prove that the photos are of children, only that Buatti was attempting to possess pornographic images of children. Last week his lawyer sought to have the original charges dismissed on grounds that the original indictment did not describe the lewd acts the children are engaged in, and that authorities did not allow the defense to cross-examine the children in the photos.

(9/15/07 – Initial BBT Report)

Severine Wamala, 46, a former math teacher at Lowell (Mass.) High School, has been found guilty of 11 counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault on allegations that he repeatedly raped a 16-year-old female student in Nashua, New Hampshire.

Severine Wamala

Following the guilty verdicts, Wamala a native of Uganda, was held without bail pending a sentence hearing, which will be scheduled for sometime next month.

The case began with three women accusing Wamala of sexually abusing them years earlier during their time at Lowell High School. Two of the three recanted their allegations but the third, who was 16 at the time of the abuse, refused to back down and offered the proof which led the jury to convict on 11 of 12 charges Wamala faced.

The 16-year-old girl and both of the Lowell women told police last year Wamala assaulted them, and prosecutors argue someone persuaded the women to recant the allegations.

Wamala faces between 10 and 20 years on each count of which he was found guilty.

11/20/07 – Sentencing

Today, Severine Wamala speaking prior to sentencing attacked the victim one last time, saying she had always been a difficult child and was prone to lying. He also said he loves and forgives her. Wamala addressed the victim herself, saying “”You have fooled people. You know how to make yourself a victim, to appear as a victim.”

Judge Robert Lynn sentenced Wamala to 20-40 years in prison and ordered him to have no contact with the victim.

Wamala plans to appeal his conviction on 11 counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault, according to his lawyer public defender Anthony Sculimbrene.

04/18/09 – Appeal Denied

The New Hampshire Supreme Court has rejected the appeal of Severine Wamala convicted on 11 counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault and sentenced to 20 to 40 years in prison.
