Guilty

John Hoffman, 29, a math teacher at Bloomfield High School in Bloomfield, Nebraska has been arrested on suspicion of sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

Reportedly, Hoffman was arrested Friday and faces a charge of sexual assault of a child.

It is alleged that during an interview with investigators that Hoffman admitted having sex with the girl several times at his home.

Media reports indicate that a search warrant was obtained for Hoffman’s residence and it is alleged that investigators seized evidence consistent with statements given by the alleged victim.

Reportedly Hoffman was booked into the Knox County Jail Friday night. Media reports indicate that he was not in jail on Monday.

Hoffman has reportedly been put on indefinite leave by school system.

10/28/09 – No Contest Plea and Sentencing

John L. Hoffman has reportedly been sentenced to 18 to 25 years in prison for sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

Court records indicate that Hoffman pleaded no contest to first-degree sexual assault of a child.

Stephanie A. Draper, 35, a former teacher at Millard North Middle School and Beadle Middle School in Omaha, Nebraska turned herself in and been arrested on allegations that she had a sexual relationship with a student six years ago.

An affidavit for the warrant for Draper’s arrest indicates that the student, now 21, told an investigator that he and Draper had a relationship between February and April 2002, when he was 14 and was attending Beadle Middle School.

It is alleged that Draper and the student had sex twice at her house. It is further alleged that on another occasion that Draper and the boy drove to Washington County, where they kissed, near the site where Draper and her husband were building a house. There is an alleged fourth incident, one said to have occurred at at Draper’s house during which the two did not have sex. It is further alleged that while at Draper’s house the boy drank alcohol and smoked cigarettes.

The alleged victim has admitted to investigators that he recently called Draper and tried to extort $5,000 in hush money from her and that she said she did not have the money but would give him a ring worth that much if the boy would promise there would be no more threats, no more calls and no more e-mails.

Draper turned herself in early this morning and after being booked into the Sarpy County Jail she was released on 10 percent of $100,000 bond.

Draper resigned from the school system earlier this year.

08/01/08 – Arraignment

Stephanie Draper was arraigned this morning and entered a plea of not guilty.

Draper remains free on bond.

Her next court appearance is set for November.

07/20/09 – Hung Jury, Mistrial Declared

The judge has declared a mistrial after the jury in the trial of Stephanie Draper declared itself deadlocked.

The jury began deliberating on Thursday and a mistrial was declared on Monday.

A new trial is scheduled to begin on December 8th.

10/09/09 – Prosecutors Add Two New Charges

Jurors in Stephanie Draper’s second trial will have two additional charges to consider.

Prosecutors have filed one new count each of third-degree sexual assault and attempted first-degree sexual assault.

Of the new charges, prosecutor Matt Lierman indicated, “This certainly gives the jury more options with what they want to do with the case.”.

Draper’s attorney, Chris Perrone indicated, “The state was unsuccessful with obtaining a guilty verdict the first time, so they threw in a couple of other charges with the hope that the jury will bite on something.”.

Guilty

Todd Nienhueser, 37, a second-grade teacher at North Elementary School in Sidney, Nebraska was arrested last month on allegations that he sexually assaulted a 16-year-old boy.

Reportedly the boy’s father contacted police on Dec. 23, saying that he was having problems with his son and that the son had left the house despite being grounded.

The father also told police that his son had received a text message, and the boy’s father believed his son was with the person who sent the text message. When the father called the number from which the text message allegedly originated, no one answered.

When a Sydney Police Officer called the number, it is alleged that Nienhueser answered and was told to bring the boy to the police station.

It is further alleged that the boy told investigators that he contacted Nienhueser for advice about being gay and that he and Nienhueser had engaged in sex acts on December 23rd and on two previous occasions.

Reportedly Nienhueser was arrested following questioning, DNA testing and a sexual assault exam of the boy.

An arrest affidavit indicates that Nienhueser met the boy on an internet site and that the boy indicated that he was 19-years-old.

Nienhueser is reportedly free on a $50,000 bond pending a January 27th arraignment and following his arrest was placed on administrative leave by the school system.

Nienhueser is set for arraignment on January 27th.

01/16/09 – Nienhueser Fired

KTIV TV reports that Todd Nienhueser has been fired by the Sidney School Board.

07/22/09 – No Contest Plea

Todd Nienhueser has reportedly, in a plea deal with prosecutors, pleaded no contest to two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Sentencing is set for September.

09/09/09 – Sentencing

Todd Nienhueser has reportedly been sentenced to two one year terms in the Cheyenne County Jail.

The two sentences are to be served concurrently.
