Joshua Joseph Long, 30, girls’ basketball coach at East Newton High School in Granby, Missouri has been charged with second-degree statutory rape of a 16-year-old female.

Long who was only recently hired by the school district has resigned in the wake of his arrest. The upcoming season would have been his first.

It is alleged that Long has sex with the girl in the kitchen of his home on June 12th.

It is reported that when initially questioned by police, Long denied sexual contact with the girl but subsequently admitted to having sex with her three times at his home.

The girl reportedly told investigators that she and Long had been exchanging text messages about having sex before she went to his home for the first sexual encounter.

Reportedly Long and the girl exchanged nude pictures via cellphone.

Toni R. Warren, 35, a former counselor at Truman Elementary School in Kansas City, Missour has been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old made student who attends another school in the Hickman Mills School District.

Warren was charged on Wednesday in Jackson County Circuit Court with statutory sodomy, second-degree child molestation and providing pornography to a minor.

It is alleged that Warren kissed the boy in her office at the elementary school, and they allegedly met twice at the home of a relative of the boy and engaged in sexual activity. The pornography charge is based in allegations that Warren e-mailed three photographs of her genitalia to the boy.

Police say that the alleged relationship occurred between September and December, 2008 and they have recovered cell phone and text messages allegedly from Warren, as well as three photos sent to the boy’s e-mail address.

Reportedly Warren came to the attention of authorities when the allegations of the relationship with the boy was reported to school officials on February 18th. School officials have indicated that Warren resigned two days later.

The boy has allegedly told investigators that he met Warren when he went to Truman Elementary School to get a ride to basketball practice.

Reportedly, the boy said he quit talking to Warren when he began getting more serious with a girlfriend “his own age,” according to court records.

Following her arrest Warren was reportedly being held at the Jackson County Detention facility on a $50,000 recommended cash-only bond.

09/18/09 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing

Reportedly, Toni R. Warren has admitted in court to a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old boy.

As a result of her plea, Warren was sentenced to a three year prison term which was suspended with Warren being placed on probation.

Mark Garber, 25, a substitute P.E. teacher and coach at Versailles High School in Versailles, Missouri has been arrested on allegations of having had sexual contact with two female students, ages 16 and 17-years-old.

Reportedly, Garber was charged Tuesday with second degree statutory sodomy on allegations that he had a sexual encounter with the girls, after being invited to the home of one of the girls in March of this year.

It is further alleged that Garber had sexual contact with the 17-year-old on another occassion.

The allegations against Garber were brought to the attention of school officials in the middle of March and Garber was placed on administrative leave at that time.

Following his arrest, a judge set Garber’s bond at $25,000.

Garber reportedly has a trial date set for May 21st.

09/10/09 – No Contest Plea

Mark Garber has reportedly entered a no contest plea on charges of endangering the welfare of a child. The statutory sodomy charge was dropped as part of the plea deal.

Garber was sentenced to 100 days in Laclede County jail.

Garber began serving his sentence on Tuesday.
