Eric P. Darwitz, 31, girls’ hockey coach at Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Faribault, Minnesota has been charged with criminal sexual conduct for allegedly having sex with two former players shortly after he resigned at another school.

Reportedly, Darwitz has been charged with two counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

It is alleged that late on August 11 or early on August 12, 2006 that Darwitz drove two then 16-year-old girls, who had been on his Park High School hockey team, to a home he shared with another man, where he had sex with both of the girls.

Allegedly, the girls told police that Darwitz poured them alcoholic beverages when they arrived at the home and that Darwitz subsequently took one of the girls upstairs, undressed her and had sex with her. The girl said she later looked in the bathroom and saw Darwitz having sex with the second girl.

It is further alleged that Darwitz admitted to having sex with one of the girls when questioned by police, but said he did not recall having intercourse with the other girl, although he did admit to being in the bathroom with her.

According to the criminal complaint, Darwitz described his relationship with both alleged victims to police as “a father figure and big brother”.

Reportedly, Darwitz came to the attention of police in February when the boyfriend of one of the alleged victims came forward with information.

Darwitz has reportedly been placed on paid leave by Shattuck-St. Mary’s.

Dawne Lejeune Schwartz, 35, a former teacher’s aide at Kennedy High School in Bloomington, Minnesota has reportedly been charged with criminal sexual conduct for allegedly having sex with a 17-year-old male student.

It is alleged that Schwart had an ongoing sexual relationship with the student that began last November.

Schwartz came to the attention of authorities when she allegedly told someone she had been sleeping with the student. Reportedly, that person contacted the high school principal who in turn called police.

Allegedly Schwartz initially denied any illicit contact with the student but subsequently admitted that they had sex multiple times at both her home and his home, when his parents were away.

Allegedly Schwartz also admitted sending explicit text messages to the boy.

Reportedly Schwartz was fired by the school system when the allegations surfaced.

Kellie Ann Lundon-Cormican, 38, a substitute teacher at Crookston High School in Crookston, Minnesota has been charged with four counts of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree for an alleged sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy.

Allegedly Lundon-Cormican told a Crookston police officer in a taped interview that she had a sexual relationship with the boy beginning in August of this year and continuing through late November. Reportedly Lundon-Cormican says that she “backed off” when the school year began.

Allegedly told investigators that she and the boy had sexual intercourse at her house and engaged in other sexual contact in August, at the end of September and when the boy “showed up” last week. Allegedly they had sex in her vehicle on November 28 near the boy’s home and in her house on November 30.

Reportedly Lundon-Cormican has not been arrested but has been summoned to make her first court appearance on December 12.

12/17/07 – Court Appearance

Last Wednesday Kellie Ann Lundon-Cormican appeared in court with her attorney entering a not guilty plea in her behalf.

Her next court appearance is set for February 25th and her trial is currently set for April 1st.

11/25/08 – Attorney Wants Allegations Tossed Out

The attorney for Kellie Ann Lundon-Cormican is asking a judge to throw out some of the more graphic allegations against her before her trial begins next month.

The defense attorney filed a motion last week in state district court seeking to prohibit prosecutors from mentioning allegations in the case that Lundon-Cormican masturbated in front of a computer camera while the teenage boy watched via his own computer, that she sent text messages to another juvenile and that another teen said she solicited him for sex. The defense says that the allegations are more unfairly prejudicial than relevant or useful to the case.

Lundon-Cormican is facing five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and five counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

12/18/08 – Guilty Pleas

Kellie Cormican pleaded guilty Wednesday Wednesday to five counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Five counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct were dropped as part of the plea deal with prosecutors.

Cormican remains free on bond awaiting sentencing which is set for February 2nd.

03/04/09 – Sentencing

Kellie Ann Cormican has been sentenced to more than 6 years in prison.

Judge Michael Kraker sentenced Cormican to nearly 10 years, with about two-thirds of that spent in prison, and the rest on supervised release.

Cormican must also register as a sex offender.
