Eddie Eugene Himes, 65, an emotional and behavioral disorders teacher at Cass Lake-Bena Middle School in Cass Lake, Minnesota has been arrested on allegations of the possession and distribution of child pornography.

Himes who has been with the school system for 12 years works with at-risk students at the school was arrested Thursday.

He has been placed on administrative leave by the school system.

05/21/08 - Guilty Plea

Eddie Himes pleaded guilty to four counts of felony possession of child pornography and one count of felony dissemination of child pornography.

Sentencing is set for July 21.

07/21/08 - Sentencing

Eddie Eugene Himes was sentenced today on four counts of felony possession of child pornography and one count of felony dissemination of child pornography.

Himes was sentenced to 150 days of probationary jail time.

Himes also received a total of an 84-month stay of execution on a series of conditions for 12 years of supervised probation and is subject to a 60-month conditional release on each count.

Among the many conditions of Himes’ probation are requirements that he enter and complete sex offender treatment, have no unsupervised contact with minors, submit to polygraph testing, take all his medications as prescribed and not use the Internet.

Nathan Paul Antrim, 35, of Rogers, Minnesota and a hockey coach at Cooper High School has been charged with third-degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly sexually assaulting one of his players.

Antrim came to the attention of police when the girl’s father told school officials that he believed she was with Antrim last weekend.

Allegedly Antrim, who gave the girl a cell phone and an iPod as gifts, admitted to police that he had sex with the girl last weekend.

If convicted Antrim could face up to 15 years in prison.

Guilty Plea and Sentencing

Nathan Antrim has pleaded guilty to third degree criminal sexual conduct and has been sentenced to 365 days in the workhouse by District Judge John Sommerville.

Reportedly Antrim apologized to the victim’s family in court and indicated that he is seeking treatment for drug and alcohol problems.

Troy Michael Bernard, 35, and a teacher at Montgomery Middle School in Le Sueur County, Minnesota has been charged with first degree criminal sexual conduct for allegedly having sex with a 15-year-old student.

Bernard, who was the girl’s volleyball coach, allegedly began the relationship with the girl last summer when she was 14-years-old.

The Le Sueur County sheriff’s department first became aware of Bernard’s alleged conduct near the end of May when a county child protection worker brought the relationship to light.

A Sheriff’s deputy spoke to the girl’s mother, who acknowledged that she was aware of the relationship and had told her daughter not to see Bernard again. She also said she had confronted Bernard and he admitted that he’d had sex with her daughter.

The girl’s mother allegedly discovered the relationship last month when she checked her daughter’s cell phone and discovered text messages between her daughter and Bernard.

Bernard, during a phone call from the girl’s mother, allegedly admitted that he had sex with the girl. The mother made the call at the request of police, who were listening in on the call.

Bernard is being held on $100,000 bail.

10/23/07 - Guilty Plea

Troy Michael Bernard pleaded guilty to first degree criminal sexual conduct, for having an almost year long sexual relationship with a female student.

Bernard entered the plea Monday before his trial was to begin in Le Sueur County District Court. His lawyer indicated that Bernard did not want the victim testifying in open court.

Bernard faces up to a maximum of 12 years in prison at his January 8th sentencing. Prior to the sentencing he will undergo a psychological evaluation as part of the pre-sentence investigation.

1/25/08 - Sentencing

Troy Bernard was today sentenced to 12 years in prison the result of his October guilty plea to first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

The prosecutor indicated that Bernard would have to serve at least 8 years of his term before becoming eligible for parole.

Teacher, Coach Charged With Sexual Misconduct

Joseph Patrick Ferraro, 29, a math teacher and football coach at Mora High School in Mora, Minnesota has been charged with exhibiting obscene material to a juvenile and disorderly conduct.

It is alleged that Ferraro showed pornographic videos and photos to an underage female student on multiple occasions during school hours during class breaks.

Ferraro came to the attention of authorities in November when the alleged victim complained.

When a search warrant was executed on Ferraro’s classroom computer numerous pornographic files were allegedly found including graphic videos and photographs the student said Ferraro had shown her.

Kellie Ann Lundon-Cormican, 38, a substitute teacher at Crookston High School in Crookston, Minnesota has been charged with four counts of criminal sexual conduct in the third degree for an alleged sexual relationship with a 14-year-old boy.

Allegedly Lundon-Cormican told a Crookston police officer in a taped interview that she had a sexual relationship with the boy beginning in August of this year and continuing through late November. Reportedly Lundon-Cormican says that she “backed off” when the school year began.

Allegedly told investigators that she and the boy had sexual intercourse at her house and engaged in other sexual contact in August, at the end of September and when the boy “showed up” last week. Allegedly they had sex in her vehicle on November 28 near the boy’s home and in her house on November 30.

Reportedly Lundon-Cormican has not been arrested but has been summoned to make her first court appearance on December 12.

12/17/07 - Court Appearance

Last Wednesday Kellie Ann Lundon-Cormican appeared in court with her attorney entering a not guilty plea in her behalf.

Her next court appearance is set for February 25th and her trial is currently set for April 1st.
