Neil Patrick Swyres, 33, a physical education and health teacher at Bayless Intermediate School in Saint Louis, Missouri has reportedly been arrested and charged in an Internet string in which it is alleged that Swyres tried to solicit sex from a fictional teenage girl.

Reportedly Swyres has been charged with two counts of sexual misconduct, two counts of using a child in sexual performance and one count of enticement of a child.

It is alleged that Swyres exposed himself on camera online last month, engaged in sex acts and tried to solicit sex from a person he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

The “girl” was in reality was a St. Charles County detective conducting an Internet sting operation.

A school spokesperson has indicated that Swyres, who has been with the school for nine years, has submitted a letter of resignation.

Swyres is reportedly free on $25,000 bond.

03/11/10 – Guilty Plea

On Wednesday, Neil Patrick Swyres reportedly pleaded guilty to multiple counts of attempted sexual misconduct with a child and attempted use of a child in a sexual performance.

Sentencing is set for May 11th.

Amy Victoria Beck, 33, a former English and social science teacher at David Starr Jordan Middle School in Burbank, California has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having sex with a then 14-year-old male student.

Beck is charged with four counts of unlawful sex with a person under 16 and one count of oral copulation with a person under 16.

Beck, accompanied by her attorney, surrendered to police Monday and was booked on suspicion of lewd or lascivious acts with a child of 14 or 15 years.

Police say, “She just came in because she was feeling guilty and the guilt had been bothering her so much that she had to get it off her chest. The detectives knew that that’s why she came in, to relieve that guilt that she’s been carrying since last year.”.

Beck was initially being held on $400,000 bail, according to Burbank police Sgt. Robert Quesada.

Reportedly, the boy, now 15, allegedly told police that the acts occurred between March and September of last year.

Beck, who had taught at Jordan Middle School for approximately 10 years, submitted her resignation on Friday.

Beck is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday in Burbank Superior Court.

If convicted, Beck faces up to seven years in state prison

Beck is a mother of three and the wife of a LAPD officer based out of the Southeast Division.

03/10/10 – Arraignment Postponed

The arraignment of Amy Beck, scheduled for today, has been postponed to March 25th.

Beck made a brief court appearance today at which her attorney indicated that Beck did not plan to post bail of $175,000 because she believed she would be better able to deal with authorities from her cell in Burbank Jail.

Robert E. Bennett Jr., 44, a basketball coach at North Marion Middle School in Citra, Florida has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having sexual contact with a 13-year-old female student.

Reportedly, Bennett is charged with sexual battery by a person with custodial authority.

Bennett came to the attention of authorities when the teenage girl’s mother allegedly found a note where her daughter talked about having sex with Bennett.

It is alleged that Bennett groped the alleged victim and forced her to touch him.

Reportedly, it is alleged that the girl told investigators Bennett called her out of class to his office, started kissing her, touching her and made her lay down on the floor by the door and fondle him.

A spokesperson for the Marion County Sheriff’s Office stated that there was sexual contact between Bennett and the alleged victim on at least two occasions.

Scott Christopher Howe, 33, a teacher at Cedar Lee Middle School in Bealteton, Virginia has reportedly been arrested on drug and child pornography charges.

In addition to being charged with with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, Howe is also charged with producing or making child pornography and crimes against nature.

Howe came to the attention of authorities earlier this month in regard to a drug complaint.

It is alleged that when a Sheriff’s deputy arrived, marijuana plants were in plain view in the backyard of the Howe residence. Further investigation allegedly revealed evidence of a sexual nature involving an underage person.

Deputies then obtained search warrants for computers and other electronic items in the Howe residence.

Following his arrest, Howe is reportedly being held in the Fauquier County Adult Detention Center in lieu of $120,000 bond.

09/15/09 – Case Update

During the course of their investigation, investigators allegedly found nine videos showing Howe and the 15-year-old boy engaged in various sexual activities. It is further alleged that an additional 13 videos depicting the two were found on an external hard drive.

Investigators say that many of the videos appeared to take place in a classroom and bathroom and a school administrator when shown the videos conformed that the bathroom and classroom were at Cedar Lee Middle School.

It is further alleged that when initially questioned in his home by Fauquier County sheriff’s deputies that Howe told them that on his computer and camera were videos of him engaged in sexual activity with a student at Cedar Lee Middle School.

03/08/10 – Guilty Verdict

Reportedly, Scott Christopher Howe has been found guilty on three counts of production of child pornography during a one-day bench trial in Federal Court in Alexandria on Monday.

Sentencing is set for June 4th and each count carries a mandatory minimum sentence of 15 years.
