James Nash, 44, a former social studies teacher at Doyle Middle School in Troy, New York has reportedly pleaded guilty in federal court Tuesday to charges alleging possession of child pornography.
In a written plea agreement, Nash reportedly admitted using his school district laptop computer between October 8, 2008 and February 3, 2009 to search for child pornography and to visit child pornography sites where he accessed images and videos depicting minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct.
On February 3, 2009 Nash turned over his district laptop to the school district’s IT department which allegedly discovered illegal images stored on the computer. The IT Department then authorized the FBI to conduct a forensic examination of Nash’s laptop. That investigation resulted in Nash being charged with possession of child pornography.
Reportedly, Nash admitted a years long interest in child pornography and that his interests were in children between the ages of 14 and 16-years-old.
Following his guilty plea, Nash was released pending sentencing, which is set for January 10th.
Nash faces up to 10 years in prison.

Rafer Lamar Grier, a Spanish teacher at Stephenson Middle School in Stone Mountain, Georgia has reportedly been arrested on allegations of child molestation and statutory rape.
Reportedly, Grier is charged with four counts of aggravated child molestation and one count of statutory rape. It is unknown whether the alleged victim is or is not a student at the school.
The crimes are alleged to have occurred in 2008 and Grier was arrested last week.
DeKalb County Schools didn’t know they had a teacher arrested on charges of aggravated child molestation and statutory rape until CBS Atlanta News told them.

In a statement to CBS Atlanta News from the DeKalb County School District, they said:
“The DeKalb County School District learned of the arrest of Mr. Grier after receiving the media inquiry from Channel 46 and subsequently researching the DeKalb Jail web site.”
Reportedly, Grier’s next court appearance is set for February 16th.
DeKalb County Jail records indicate that bond for Grier has not been set as yet.

Stephanie Diane Harris, 27, a former teacher at Marble City Schools in Marble City, Oklahoma has been arrested on allegations that she had a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old male student.
The alleged victim has told investigators that Harris began text messaging him during the month of June. The boy says that on June 24th Harris text messaged the boy, asking him if he would have sex with her. The boy reportedly agreed and began walking down the road. It is alleged that Harris picked him up and took him to her residence where it is alleged they had sex. Allegedly after the sexual encounter Harris took the boy back to Marble City and let him out of the vehicle to walk home.
It is further alleged that between June and August, Harris sent the boy five photographs of herself in a text message. Allegedly the photos were of Harris’ vaginal area, her nude breasts, and one of her breasts while wearing a bra or bathing suit top. Additionally it is alleged that Harris sent the boy text messages which were sexual in nature.
Reportedly Harris asked the boy to send photographs of his genitals, which he has told investigators that he did.
Court records indicate that Harris has been charged with first-degree rape and three counts of soliciting sexual conduct or communication with a minor by use of technology.

Kenneth Volpe, 35, a gym teacher and coach at Coxsackie-Athens Middle School in Coxsackie, New York has reportedly been arrested on allegations of inappropriate contact between Volpe and a 13-year-old female student.
Reportedly, Volpe was charged with second-degree sexual abuse and misdemeanor counts of forcible touching and endangering the welfare of a child.
The crimes are alleged to have occurred while on school grounds.
Following his arrest, Volpe was arraigned in Town of Coxsackie Court and released on his own recognizance.
09/06/10 – Charges Dropped
According to Greene County District Attorney Terry Wilhelm, the charges against Kenneth Volpe have been dropped.
Reportedly, the alleged victim and her mother indicated to the district attorney’s office that they did not want to pursue criminal charges.

Joseph O. Massey, 36, an eight-grade social studies at Utterback Magnet Middle School in Tucson, Arizona has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having an inappropriate relationship with a 15-year-old female student.
Reportedly, Massey has been charged with two counts of sexual conduct with a minor.
Massey came to the attention of authorities when a family member of the alleged victim discovered suspicious chat messages on the alleged victim’s Facebook account and alerted authorities.
Police contacted Massey and after interviewing him they determined they had enough probable cause to arrest him. Reportedly, Massey was arrested in the Utterback parking lot after school Friday.
Massey, who is reportedly in his first year at the school, has been placed on administrative leave.

Richard A. Neff, 47, girls’ basketball coach at Dundee Middle School in Dundee, Michigan has reportedly been arrested on allegations a sexual relationship with a female student who is now 14-years-old and who was 13 when the alleged relationship began.
Reportedly, Neff has been charged with two first-degree counts of criminal sexual conduct and one count each of second-degree criminal sexual conduct and accosting a child for immoral purposes.
On Tuesday, Neff made an initial appearance before First District Judge Mark S. Braunlich who set bond at $50,000 and ordered Neff to have no contact with the alleged victim and her family and to stay away from the school.
The prosecution, which had sought a $100,000 bond, is alleging that Neff and the girl had a relationship since January, 2009 and that the alleged relationship continued until Friday when they reportedly were caught in a suspicious situation at the school.
Reportedly, a school custodian allegedly caught Neff and the girl in the school last Friday night. The custodian reported the incident to district officials who then alerted police.
Neff is reportedly free on bond and has a preliminary examination set for May 11th.
