Mark Allen Boster, 46, a Columbus, Ohio Public Schools teacher has been arrested and charged with unlawful sexual conduct with a minor and importuning for attempting to have oral sex with a 14-year-old boy.

Boster was caught in an internet sting when the 14-year-old boy with whom he thought he was going to have oral sex turned out to be sheriff’s deputies waiting for him at the prearranged meeting place.

According to media reports Boster has been with the school system for over 20 years and has worked in several schools with problems reported along the way.

The issues included watching boys urinate in the restroom, improper physical contact with students, allegations of twisting a boy’s breast, rubbing a boys legs and similar acts.

In spite of the various problems reportedly occurring with Boster he was never fired and apparently never disciplined in any way. At the time of his arrest he was working at a Columbus Public Schools distribution facility after being diagnosed with “health problems”.

Chad Roby, 34, a former 6th-grade English and social studies teacher at River Trails Middle School in Mt. Prospect, Illinois has pleaded guilty and been sentenced on one count of possession of child pornography.

Roby who came to the attention of authorities from online chats with an undercover Indiana police detective posing as a 13-year-old boy. He was originally charged with two counts of attempted child molestation, two counts of child solicitation and one count of dissemination of matter harmful to minors. Roby was arrested in June 2006 when he went to a mall to meet what he thought was the “boy”.

Following his arrest, Roby’s computer was seized and a forensic examination of the computer revealed child pornography.

As a result of his guilty plea, Roby was sentenced to 2 years in prison.

Thomas Eric Allen Jr., a 7th grade social studies teacher at Canton Middle School in Canton, North Carolina has been arrested on allegations that he solicited sex on the Internet from undercover police officers posing as a young boy.

Allen came to the attention of authorities after he allegedly posted ads seeking young boys on Craignslist.com.

Allen was arrested after a online correspondence in which he planned to meet someone he thought was a 15-year-old boy,

Following his arrest, Allen who has been suspended without pay by the school system, was released on $6,000 bond.

Allen Dismissed From School System

Thomas Allen Jr. no longer has a job with Haywood County Schools.

A school spokesman says that Allen is currently being dismissed and information will be forwarded to the Department of Public Instruction for a decision on whether or not Allen’s teaching certificate is maintained or revoked.

Kollin King, 27, of Hamburg, New York, a former fourth grade teacher at Blasdell Elementary School, in Blasdell, New York has reportedly pleaded guilty to possession of child pornography in exchange for an 8 1/2-year prison sentence.

King was arrested in February of this year on charges of possession of child pornography and attempting via the Internet to entice a minor to engage in criminal sexual activity. Allegedly King attempted to lure a 14-year-old boy into a meeting for sex. The ‘boy’ was in reality an FBI agent posing as a 14-year-old boy for the ‘meet up’ in Cheektowaga, N.Y.

In keeping with the plea deal, King admitted to the attempted enticement and agreed to give up his teacher’s license. King also admitted that he’d previously had sex with a 16-year-old boy both in a park and at his apartment. King allegedly told investigators he me the boy via the internet. No charges were filed in regard to these admissions.

King denies having inappropriate contact with any of his students at Blasdell Elementary School or with members of a Boy Scout den he led.

Sentencing is set for November 28th.

11/28/07 - Sentencing

Kollin King was sentenced this morning to eight years and six months in federal prison for his guilty plea to possession of child pornography, including pictures of children younger than 12.

King who also surrendered his teaching license will be subject to GPS monitoring after his release from prison.

KOLLIN KING INDICTED ON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES (6/12/07)

David Campbell Jones, 47, a former science teacher and coach at Phillips Middle School and a Boy Scout troop leader in Chapel Hill, North Carolina who pleaded guilty to enticement of a minor was sentenced today in federal court in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Jones today received a minimum term of 10 years in prison, a $25,000 fine and 25 years supervised probation once he is released from prison. This will likely mean that Jones will be under supervision for the rest of his natural life.

At his sentencing, Jones told the judge:

I apologize to the victim and the victim’s family, and I hope that that will be relayed to them. I apologize to my family, friends, school and Scouts, the Chapel Hill-Carrboro community, and most of all God for my actions. They were wrong.

Jones who worked at Phillips Middle School for 23 years was most recently an athletics director, football coach and eighth-grade science teacher. He was a very popular teacher and coach who the students referred to as “Coach Jones” at his encouragement.

Jones was arrested by sheriff’s deputies in August of 2006 on allegations that he used a computer to solicit a 15-year-old Orange County boy for sex. Jones who called himself “NiceguyfromNC27707″ on-line was arrested when he showed up at the boy’s home. At the time of his arrest Jones reportedly had in his possession lubricant, condoms and a digital camera.
