Edward A. Hubbard, 33, a former physical education and driver’s education teacher at Lakewood High School in Sumter, South Carolina has reportedly been arrested on allegations of engaging in sexual activity with a fifteen year-old girl.

Reportedly, Hubbard is charged with criminal sexual conduct with a minor, disseminating obscene materials and contributing to delinquency of a minor.

It addition to allegedly engaging in sexual activity with the girl, it is further alleged that Hubbard permitted the girl to view pornographic materials and gave her alcohol.

According to school Superintendent Dr. J. Frank Baker, Hubbard resigned his position with the school system on Wednesday.

Brian Charles Drake, the former coordinator of the Waterford School District’s high school performing arts centers in Waterford, Michigan was charged last month on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a former female student.

Reportedly, Drake has been charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct after allegations arose he had sexual relations with a student in the theater of Waterford Kettering High School.

Police began an investigation in September after allegations involving Drake and the student surfaced.

Following his arraignment, Drake was reportedly released on $15,000 personal bond with a preliminary exam set for November 17th.

Drake faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.

School officials have indicated that Drake resigned from his position on September 15th.

Kevin D. Thompson, 27, a social studies teacher and 8th grade boys basketball coach at South Beloit Junior High in South Beloit, Illinois has reportedly been arrested on allegations of an improper relationship with a 13-year-old female student.

Reportedly, Thompson is charged with two counts of indecent solicitation of a child, two counts of aggravated indecent solicitation of a child, one count of indecent solicitation to meet a child and four counts of battery.

Following his arrest, Thompson was booked into the Winnebago County Jail on $100,000 bond and was reportedly released after posting 10-percent of that amount. Bond was conditioned on Thompson not having any contact with the alleged victim or anyone under the age of 18.

Reportedly, Thompson has been placed on administrative leave by the school system.

Case Update

Kevin D. Thompson was in Winnebago County Circuit Court Thursday where his case was reassigned to Judge Gary Pumilia.

Last week, Thompson pleaded not guilty to four felony counts of indecent solicitation of a child, one felony count of solicitation to meet a child, and four misdemeanor counts of battery.
