Richard Foster, 51, a sixth-grade teacher at Bradford Elementary School, in Bradford, Vermont has been arrested on allegations of sexual assault on a minor, lewd and lascivious conduct with a minor, possession of child pornography, use of a child in a sexual performance and luring a child for sexual exploitation.

Foster came to the attention of authorities on Friday when a juvenile who formerly lived in Vermont told investigators at the Coral Springs, Florida police department about multiple incidents of alleged sexual contact between the juvenile and Foster.

Authorities in Vermont obtained search warrants for Foster’s home and the school on Saturday. After the search warrants were executed Foster was arrested on multiple felony charges.

Following his arrest, Foster made $30,000 bail on Saturday evening and was released from jail.

On Sunday, a state police received a 911 call from Foster’s home during which a male caller asked police to be sent and hung up. When police arrived at Foster’s home they found him injured from an apparent suicide attempt. Foster was taken to Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, N.H., in stable condition.

Foster will be arraigned Monday in Vermont District Court in Chelsea, if he is well enough to leave the hospital.

Lief Arnesen Albaugh, 27, a band teacher at Foshay Learning Center in Los Angeles, California has been arrested and charged with felony possession of child pornography.

LAPD officers served a search warrant at Albaugh’s Los Angeles home Wednesday and seized his personal laptop computer, which allegedly contained images of young boys and girls engaged in sexual conduct.

Police also seized his computer at school.

Albaugh is free on $20,000 bail.

06/27/08 - Court Appearance and Another Charge

On Thursday Lief Albaugh made a court appearance and entered a not guilty plea on the initial charge of possessing child pornography.

A second count of possessing child pornography was filed against Albaugh. He has not entered a plea on that charge.

Albaugh remains free on $20,000 bond.

09/17/08 - Lief Albaugh Ordered To Stand Trial

Lief Albaugh has been ordered to stand trial on two felony counts of possession of material depicting a minor engaging in sexual conduct.

Albaugh’s arraignment is set for October 1st.

Albaugh is one of three current or former Foshay staff members to be charged with sex-related felonies in recent months.

David Leo Hazlett, 57, a former teacher at Leawood Middle School, in Leawood, Kansas and later a substitute teacher in the Olathe Schools has been arrested and charged with sexual exploitation for allegedly possessing hundreds of images of child pornography.

A tip led police to Hazlett whose computer was searched last month. Allegedly police found sexually explicit pictures of children under 18. Police say the pictures appear to be from Dec. 7, 2005, to July 25, but some images appear older. Police describe the alleged child pornography as commonly traded among child-porn viewers and which have surfaced in previous cases.

Police say there has been no indication the pictures involve property, computers or students in the school districts in which Hazlett has worked.

Reportedly Hazlett taught sixth and seventh grade science at Leawood Middle School from 1983 to 1998, lived in South America for a few years and then worked as a substitute teacher in Olathe from December 2005 to March of this year, when he was fired.

2/26/08 - Guilty Plea

David Hazlett pleaded guilty today to using a computer to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity.

Hazlett admitted that he chatted with two minor girls via a Web camera, asked them to undress and show themselves to the camera and that he saved the images to the hard drive of his computer.

Sentencing is set for May 12th.

A federal judge has sentenced David Hazlett to more than four years for using a computer to entice a minor to engage in sexual activity.

Coen C. Potts, 37, a former elementary art teacher at Pauline South Intermediate School and Pauline Central Primary School in the Auburn-Washburn Unified School District 437 in Kansas has according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office pleaded guilty to child pornography charges.

In his plea, Potts admitted that investigators found thousands of images of child pornography on a computer in his apartment. He obtained most of the images by joining groups on the Internet for collectors and distributors of child pornography.

According to court records, Potts became the subject of an investigation in September 2006 when investigators learned that he had told a woman he met through a telephone dating service that he would like to have children with her that he could “deflower.” When he met the woman in person, he showed her images of child pornography. He later told her he had been interested in photos of that kind for a long time and he had been “unsuccessful with women virtually my whole life.”

Sentencing is set Sept. 8, 2008.

Potts faces a penalty of not less than five years and not more than 20 years and a fine up to $250,000 on the charge of receiving pornography, and a maximum penalty of 10 years and a fine up to $250,000 on the possession charge.

09/08/08 - Sentencing

Coen Potts has been sentenced to more than seven years in prison as the result of his guilty plea to charges of possessing thousands of images of child pornography.

U.S. District Court Judge Julie Robinson trimmed a year off the recommended sentenced agreed to by Potts’ defense attorney and prosecutors as part of a plea deal.

Judge Robinson said that “significant jail time” was required of Potts and that she couldn’t forget about the children victimized in the photos and videos even if Potts hadn’t committed those acts. Consumers of child pornography, she said, help create a demand for such harmful actions.

Stacy Lynn Tucker, 39, a former band teacher at Izard County Consolidated School in Brockwell, Arkansas has been indicted on one count child pornography by a federal grand jury in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Tucker was indicted as the result of an internet sting after he allegedly entered an Internet chat room and began talking with an individual he thought was a 14-year-old female from Mississippi but who was actually an undercover officer in another state.

Allegedly Tucker began chatting in January of this year with the officer and represented himself as an Arkansas couple comprised of a 39-year-old man and a 22-year-old woman and indicated that he wanted to trade “naughty” pictures with the young girl. It is also alleged that Tucker asked if the girl was a virgin and repeatedly asked to role play as a father and daughter, young neighbor or teacher and student.

Over the course of the chats it is alleged that Tucker sent multiple sexually explicit images of adults as well as what appeared to be a self-photograph of a nude white female approximately 11-13 years old to the officer.

It is also alleged that on April 5, Tucker and the girl role played father and daughter and that Tucker initiated a sexually explicit conversation during which he described performing oral sex on the girl and asked her to perform sex acts for “daddy.”

By April officers had determined Tucker’s identity and location and obtained a warrant to search his residence. On June 5, officers confiscated a laptop computer, with a web camera, along with other computer related items, telephone numbers and an envelope bearing possible passwords from Tucker’s residence.

Tucker who worked for the Izard County Consolidated School District as a band teacher for grades 5-12 during the 2006-2007 school year submitted his resignation June 19th.

09/05/08 - Sentencing

Stacy Lynn Tucker who pleaded guilty in March to a single count of possession of child pornography has been sentenced to four years in prison.

Tucker’s prison sentence will be followed by 25 years of supervised release. Tucker will also be required to undergo mental health counseling and treatment and to register as a sex offender. Among conditions imposed upon Tucker are monitored Internet access and no contact with minor children without the consent of a probation officer.
