Daniel “Danny” Villa, 44, the ex-coach of this year’s state champion Walpole High School football team surrendered to police in Arizona last night and will return to Massachusetts to face three counts of rape of a child over 14 and three counts of enticing a minor, according to both police and his Villa’s lawyer.

Villia’s lawyer has indicated that his client will waive extradition at an Arizona court on Monday and will return to Massachusetts voluntarily to face the charges against him. Villa’s lawyer said in a statement. “Mr. Villa intends to plead not guilty in court.”
Walpole Police Chief Richard Stillman indicates that it would take at least a week to process the paperwork for Villa’s return to Massachusetts.
