Jennifer Dempsey, 28, a Spanish teacher and cheerleader coach at Oswego High School in Oswego, New York has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor.

It is alleged that Dempsey was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a 16-year-old male student.

Dempsey was arrested Tuesday and given an appearance ticket citing her into court on April 3rd.

It is alleged the relationship between teacher and student was intimate and ongoing.

Dempsey has been placed on paid administrative suspension as a result of her arrest.

In February she was suspended when parents complained to high school officials that Dempsey had sent inappropriate electronic messages to their children. She had returned to work about two weeks prior to her arrest.

10/21/09 – Charges Dismissed

In May, Oswego County District Attorney Donald Dodd announced that Jennifer Dempsey was cleared of any wrongdoing and the state was dismissing the child endangerment charge against her.

William Allen Beeson, 58, a former English and theater arts teacher at Virginia City High School, in Virginia City, Nevada has been arrested on suspicion of felony sexual assault of a child under the age of 16, suspicion of felony sexual assault and suspicion of misdemeanor unlawful conduct with a child.

Following his arrest Beeson was held on $150,000 bond.

Beeson was fired from the school last August after having been placed on administrative leave in the wake of accusations of improperly touching a male student in April.

The current charges are the result of the alleged incident last year.

Officers are investigating previous cases in which Beeson was accused by two former students of improperly touching them in the 1990s.

1/31/08 – Bail Reduction

Dozens of supporters watch as judge lowers William Beeson’s bail from $150,000 to $25,000.

Bail was conditioned upon Beeson having no contact with alleged victims or their families, surrendering his passport and not leaving northern Nevada.

Jeremy Michael Spencer, 26, a former Latin teacher and assistant girls basketball coach at J.L. Mann High School in Greenville, South Carolina has reportedly been arrested on allegations of having sex with a 15-year-old female student in his classroom.

Spencer is initially charged with second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor under 16.

Spencer came to the attention of authorities in late September when a 16-year-old female student told school officials that Spencer had grabbed her and kissed her in an empty classroom and that she had pulled away from him and went to administrators.

Reportedly, school officials verified from videotape that the girl had been in the room with Spencer.

Spencer was suspended on Monday and reportedly by that time, two more girls came forward and told school officials that they had also been kissed by Spencer.

On Thursday, another girl came forward with allegations that Spencer kissed and touched her at the school and that he pushed her against a desk and had sex with her.

Spencer, who was reportedly in his fourth year at the school, resigned his position with the school system on Friday morning.

Following his arrest, Spencer was reportedly released on $20,000 bond.
