James Chase, 69, a sixth and seventh-grade music teacher at Two Rivers Middle School in Covington, Kentucky has been arrested and charged with distribution of material containing a sexual performance by a minor.

It is alleged that Chase had hundreds of images of children engaged in sexual situations on his computer. Several computers were seized from Chase’s home.

Chase came to the attention of police by way of information from Immigration and Customs Enforcement which said that Chase purchased child pornography, as part of a federal investigation called “Operation Flicker”.

Chase has been placed on unpaid administrative leave by the school system.

11/10/08 - Sentencing

In July, James Chase entered a guilty plea and admitted that he used his computer to download more than 3,000 images of child pornography.

Today, James Chase was sentenced to 104 months in prison. He must serve 85% of his prison sentence before eligible for parole.

After his prison sentence, Chase will be on probation for the rest of his life and will be required to register as a sex offender.

Ronald Borman, 61, a former teacher at Kammerer Middle School in Louisville, Kentucky who was arrested, charged and ultimately convicted of trying to seduce a child over the internet in 2006 is facing more charges.

With the latest charges, Boren is being charged with new federal child pornography offense stemming from an investigation that started two years ago.

Borman who was arrested in 2006 after he was caught in an internet sting in which he thought he was talking to a 13-year-old child on his computer, but the “child” was in fact an undercover officer conducting a sting operation out of Florida.

Florida Department of Corrections records indicate that Ronald Borman was found guilty of using the Internet to solicit a child for sex or lewdness in August of 2007. Borman was required to register as a sex offender. Florida DOC records indicate that Borman was residing in Taylorsville, Kentucky.

Police seized Borman’s computer after his arrest in the Internet sting and analyzed it. The new charges are a result of allegations that detectives examining Borman’s computer found more than 300 pictures and movies containing child pornography.

Clayton Pruett, 25, a substitute teacher and wrestling coach at Bullitt Central High School in Shepherdsville, Kentucky and a youth minister at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church has been arrested on allegations of the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old girl.

Pruett came to the attention of authorities when the girl’s mother went to the Bullet County Sheriff’s office after her daughter told her of the alleged sexual abuse.

Allegedly Pruett sexually abused the girl for more than a year at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

The girl’s mother says that she informed the Pastor at Pleasant Grove several months ago of the sexual abuse. When asked about the allegation on the part of the girls mother Pastor Von Smith denied it, saying “Nothing was reported of any sexual misconduct and such, until in the past few days, when we had gotten that word”.

Pruett, who has worked at the school since February of this year, has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the investigation.

Preutt has been charged with with first degree sexual abuse and his bond was set at $100,000 cash.

01/29/08 - Charges Dismissed

Sexual-abuse charges against Clayton Pruett were dismissed after an investigator failed to show up for a probable-cause hearing. Reportedly the investigator was called to Illinois for a family emergency.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson indicated that the department may continue with the case and submit it to a grand jury.

07/29/08 - Accuser: Sex abuse allegations were all made up

The mother of the accuser signed that statement today, clearing the name of Pastor Clayton Pruett.

Reportedly the mother is Debra Johnson and until recently she was a member of the Bullitt County School Board.

In a signed statement filed in court it says Debra Johnson’s complaints to police about Pruett abusing her daughter were false.

Pruett has been rehired by the Bullit County Schools.
