Larry Brent Childress, 40, an instructional assistant at the Horizon Academy in Bardstown, Kentucky has been arrested after having been indicted by a grand jury on six felony counts of rape and sodomy.

It is alleged that Childress had sex with an underage student 15 years ago when he was a teacher at North Bullitt High School.
Childress came to the attention of authorities recently when the alleged victim came forward.
Childress’ arrest came after a months-long investigation which began when an adult female came to state police and said that Childress had forced her to have sex with him when she was a juvenile and he was a coach at North Bullitt High School.
Childress was being held in the Bullitt County Detention Center and was scheduled for arraignment tomorrow.
03/26/09 – Guilty Plea
Reportedly Larry Childress has pleaded guilty to raping and sodomizing a teenager nearly two decades ago.
Childress pleaded guilty to two counts each of third-degree rape and sodomy.
Childress admitted having sexual intercourse and oral sex with the teenage girl on two separate occasions in the 1990s.
Formal sentencing will reportedly take place in May. Childress faces a maximum of up to 20 years in prison, however the prosecution has recommended a sentence of eight years.

As requested by prosecutors, Larry Childress has been sentenced to 8 years in prison.
Earlier this year, Childress pleaded guilty to having sex with a 13-year-old student over 15 years ago.
At today’s hearing the victim spoke out and in part told Childress:
My childhood was taken away from me at 13-years-old. I can honestly say you sicken me. My virginity, my innocence, my dignity have been stripped away. I was still playing Barbie dolls, had never kissed a boy and had no intentions to have sex with you.
07/15/09 – Childress Requests Shock Probation
Larry Childress, who has served 60 days of his 8 year sentence, has requested to be released early on “shock probation”.
Childress will have to serve 120 days in jail according to his plea bargain. Since Childress has served half that time, the judge will have to make a decision by September on whether he will be released early.
09/18/09 – Larry Childress Released From Jail
Today, Larry Brent Childress was released from jail after being granted shock probation.
Childress will now serve five years of supervised probation and have to complete a sex offender treatment program.
