Marsha J. Mote
Posted by: Webmaster in Church Schools, FE-FV, Hall of Shame, Kansas, Teachers - MiscMarsha J. Mote, aka, “Marcy” Mote, 37, a former teacher at Tyro Community Christian School, in Tyro, Kansas has entered a no contest plea to a charge of aggravated indecent liberties with a child.

In March Mote was charged on allegations that she took indecent liberties with a 14-year-old female who was reportedly a student at the Tyro school where Mote taught. She was released on $20,000 bond following her arrest. One of the conditions of her bond was that she was prohibited from being around minors.
On June 20, Mote was arrested at the Coffeyville Aquatic Center, in Coffeyville, Kansas as she was dropping off her two daughters. A private citizen spotted Mote at the aquatic center and called police who arrested her for violation of bond conditions.
Sentencing for Mote has been set for September 13th and she faces a sentencing range from 50 months to 25 years.
06/20/08 - Sentencing
Sentencing for Mote was delayed from the September 13th date. Mote was taken in late January to Larned State Hospital for a mental evaluation, and was returned to Montgomery County in late March. She was held in jail awaiting sentencing until May.
Kansas Department of Corrections records indicate that on May 8, 2008 Marsha J. Mote was sentenced to 55 months in prison.

Additional research indicates that in addition to her prison sentence she will be required to serve 36 months of post-release supervision and she will be required to maintain her sex offender registration.
