Tabitha Adams, 35, a second-grade teacher at Sacred Heart Cathedral School in Dodge City, Kansas has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated sodomy with a child, sexual exploitation of a child, aggravated indecent liberties with a child and aggravated endangerment of a child.

Thus far police have not released the age or gender of the alleged victim or the alleged victim’s relationship to Adams. Police have however indicated the alleged victim is a student at Sacred Heart.

Adams bond was set at $500,000 and reportedly she has not bailed out of jail.

She has reportedly been suspended by the school and the school is reportedly seeking a replacement for her.

The Catholic Diocese of Dodge City has released an official statement regarding Adams arrest.

12/21/07 - Arrest Details

Additional information has surfaced regarding the arrest of Tabitha Adams and Zachary Noble, 28, of Falls City, Nebraska.

The pair came to the attention of authorities when an unidentified person brought a digital camera memory device with pictures allegedly showing Adams and Nobel engaging in sexual acts with a girl to Dodge City, Kansas police. Dodge City Police contacted Falls City Police and an investigation was begun.

Police say they believe the pictures were taken inside Noble’s Falls City home.

The alleged victim has been reported to be a student at Sacred Heart Cathedral School in Dodge City but not one of Adams’ students.

3/21/08 - Guilty Plea

As part of a plea deal, Tabitha Adams pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of aggravated indecent liberties with a child, an 8-year-old female relative.

Two counts of sexual exploitation of a child and aggravated criminal sodomy was dismissed as part of the deal.

Adams faces a sentence of up to life in prison at sentencing and Adams been charged in Richardson County Nebraska with two counts each of first-degree sexual assault of a child and aiding and abetting a felony and she also faces federal child pornography charges.

05/30/08 - Sentencing

In Ford County, Kansas Tabitha Adams has been sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole for 25 years.

Adams still faces additional charges in Nebraska.

Keith E. Marshall, 48, a special education teacher in the Topeka Unified School District 501 in Topeka, Kansas has pleaded no contest to a misdemeanor count of sexual battery against a female student.

It was alleged that Marshall who was monitoring in-school detention at Capital City Schools used his cell phone camera to take pictures of a girl’s breast.

Marshall was also originally charged with obstruction for allegedly throwing the cell phone into the Kansas River a few days after the picture taking incident. The obstruction charge was dropped as part of the plea deal.

Marshall was sentenced to one year in county jail with that term suspended, 12 months of supervised probation and is required to register as a sex offender.

Marshall also gave up his special needs teaching license. He had been a special needs teacher in the district for almost 25 years.

Mohamed A. Dirshe, 26, a substitute teacher at Immaculata High School and at Leavenworth High School both in Leavenworth, Kansas has been arrested and charged with having unlawful sexual relations with high school students.

Dirshe has been charged with three counts of unlawful sexual relations and three counts of furnishing alcohol to a minor for illicit purposes.

It is alleged that Dirshe invited two 16-year-old male students to his home, gave them alcohol and had illegal sexual relations with them while they were under the influence of alcohol.

The alleged victims were students at the two high schools where Dirsche was a substitute teacher.

Dirshe came to the attention of police by way of Leavenworth Regional Catholic Schools officials.

Dirshe’s next court appearance was scheduled for Friday.

Anthony Coker, 26, a former assistant football coach at Buhler High School, in Buhler, Kansas has been arrested and charged on allegations that he had unlawful sexual relations with a 17-year-old female student.

Allegedly Coker and the girl had consensual sex on September 16 while the two were not on school grounds.

Under Kansas law, unlawful sexual relations occurs when a teacher or person in a position of authority engages in consensual sex with a 16- or 17-year-old who is a student at the school where the offender works.

Reportedly Coker has resigned from the school and is free on bond with his first court appearance scheduled for November 30th.

2/29/08 - Sentencing

Anthony Coker was today sentenced to 12 months in community corrections for a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student.

If Coker violates the terms of his community corrections sentence, he could face 6 months in jail.

Anthony Baker, 36, a former librarian at Muncie Elementary School in Leavenworth, Kansas has been sentenced to 17.5 years in federal prison for producing child pornography.

In October of last year, Baker pleaded guilty to one count of producing child pornography in a case involving a 10-year-old girl as the victim.

Baker came to the attention of authorities when his wife discovered he was chatting over the Internet with underage girls and collecting pornography that included sexual images of children. His wife turned his computer over to law enforcement and investigators discovered images of Baker and the girl performing oral sex on one another and photos of him penetrating the girl.

At the time of his arrest Baker had worked for the school system for 10 years, first as a teacher and later as the school librarian.

In addition to the prison term Baker will also have to register as a sex offender and serve 20 years of supervised release after he gets out of prison.

Baker also faces numerous state charges arising from his sexual abuse of a child.
