Allison Dean, 30, a former English and Oral Communications teacher at Magnolia Junior High School, in Magnolia, Arkansas has reportedly turned herself in for the sexual assault of a 15-year-old male student.

According to the Columbia County Sheriff, Dean gave drugs to the boy and had sex with him for a period of eight months.

Reportedly, Dean faces eight counts of sexual assault, each carrying a potential prison sentence of from six to thirty years, if convicted.

Dean resigned from the school last week.

Reportedly Dean is free on $25,000 bond pending trial.

Dean’s attorney in a public statement said, “She maintains her innocence and the allegations are wholly fabricated and false”.

Although Dean voluntarily turned herself in to police, she reportedly refused to give a statement to investigators.

An investigation into Dean began after the boy’s mother found several text messages on her son’s phone related to drug use and a caller refused to offer a name, an affidavit by police claims. When questioned by his parents, the boy admitted having sex with a teacher at his school, the affidavit claims.

The affidavit alleges that Dean gave the boy, who was not in any of her classes, her cell phone number. The relationship intensified and the two often met at the Genestet water well near Waldo, where they had sex and smoked marijuana together, the affidavit alleges.

Dean is the second Magnolia Junior High School teacher arrested on sex-related charges in less than four months. Donna Lou Sanders was arrested in April on two counts of accomplice to rape, four counts of third-degree sexual assault and six counts of permitting abuse of a minor.

10/08/09 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing

Just as jury selection was to get underway in the trial of Allison Dean she pleaded guilty to four counts of first-degree sexual assault stemming from a relationship with a 15-year-old boy.

As a result of her guilty pleas, Allison Dean was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

William R. Thompson, 55, a science teacher at North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo, Washington has been charged on allegations that he made advances and eventually kissed a 15-year-old girl during tutoring sessions.

Although Thompson taught at North Kitsap High School last year he was a teacher at Poulsbo Junior High School when the alleged incidents occurred.

Thompson has been arraigned on one count of fourth-degree assault with sexual motivation and one count of communication with a minor for immoral purposes. Both charges are gross misdemeanors and both are punishable by up to a year in jail.

Thompson appeared in court after being summoned. He has not been arrested and was not jailed.

10/05/09 – Not Guilty Verdict

The case of William R. Thompson has concluded with the jury returning a not guilty verdict on all charges.

Jennifer Lea Burton, 39, a coach and teacher at Orangefield Junior High School in Orangefield, Texas has been indicted by an Orange County Grand Jury on three counts of sexual assault and three counts of improper relationship between an educator and student.

KBMT TV reports that the alleged victim is a 15-year-old female student and that the alleged improper relationship went on between September and November 2008.

Reportedly, Orangefield school Superintendent Philip Welch says Burton is on leave pending a special board meeting next week.

The Orange Leader reports that bond for Burton has been set at $15,000 for each of the sexual assault counts and $10,000 for each of the improper relationship counts.

Reportedly, authorities have indicated that Burton needs to turn herself in or face arrest.

04/13/09 – Burton Resigns

Jennifer Burton, who has been on administrative leave since late March, has reportedly submitted a letter of resignation to the school district.

Burton is reportedly free on bond.

07/10/09 – Jennifer Burton Headed To Trial

Jennifer Lea Burton, through her attorney, has announced she will go to trial on three counts each of sexual assault of a child and improper relationship between an educator and student.

The assistant district attorney handling the case said that he will seek a trial date in late summer or early fall but that he is willing to discuss a plea bargain agreement with the defense even though it was announced they wanted a trial.

08/19/09 – Jennifer Burton Arrested and Jailed

Jennifer Burton has been re-arrested and jailed on allegations that she continues having inappropriate relations with a 14-year-old student.

Burton is reportedly being held in the Orange County Jail in lieu of $180,000 bond on three charges of sexual assault of a child and three charges of having inappropriate relations with a student and police say Burton now faces more charges.

Burton surrendered to authorities following a court hearing after information surfaced that she had met the 14-year-old again at least twice.

08/27/09 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing

Jennifer Lea Burton has, in a plea deal with prosecutors, pleaded guilty to two counts of sexual assault and one count of improper relationship between educator and student. As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dropped one count of sexual assault and two counts of improper relationship

Burton was sentenced to ten years in prison on each count with the sentences to run concurrently.

Burton is also required to register as a sex offender.
