Michael Scott Brinkerhoff, 42, an English and drama teacher at Burley Junior High School in Burley, Idaho was reportedly arrested last week on allegations of enticing children over the internet, and sexual abuse of a minor child under the age of 16.
Reportedly, Brinkerhoff was charged with felony enticing children over the Internet and felony sexual abuse of a minor under age 16. The alleged victim is a 14-year-old female student.
It is alleged that Brinkerhoff contacted the alleged victim on Memorial Day, telling her his 15-year-old nephew was moving to Burley from Arizona and that Brinkerhoff wanted to introduce him to some area teens.
It is further alleged that Brinkerhoff arranged for the fictitious boy to meet the victim on the social networking website Facebook and thereafter pretended to be the 15-year-old boy in order to engage in online sexual conduct with the alleged victim.

Justin W. Lewis, 40, a seventh-grade teacher at Katy Junior High in Katy, Texas has reportedly been arrested on allegations of distributing child pornography.
Reportedly, Lewis was arrested by Houston police and turned over to federal authorities on two counts of distributing child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography.
According to a Federal criminal complaint, Lewis made child porn available to others through the use of peer-to-peer software linked to his home computer.
It is alleged that investigating agents downloaded multiple images of child pornography from Lewis via the software which included children under the age of 12 being sexually violated by adults, children under the age of 12 in positions which caused their genitalia to be displayed in a lewd/lascivious manner, as well a child being penetrated by a foreign object.
If convicted, Lewis could face between five and twenty years in federal prison on each count.
Reportedly, the school system has placed Lewis on administrative leave and a school spokesperson has indicated that Lewis faces dismissal.

Robert Howard Swanson, 43, a math teacher at Ramsey Junior High School in St. Paul, Minnesota has reportedly been arrested on allegations that he drugged and sexually assaulted a 12-year-old girl.
Reportedly, Swanson is being charged with first-degree criminal sexual conduct.
On Wednesday, bail for Swanson set at $100,000 with conditions and $200,000 without conditions because of the public safety concern owing to the nature of the alleged offense and Swanson’s proximity to children.
According to County Attorney Jeff Edblad, the victim has a “significant relationship” with Swanson and is not one of his students.
Swanson came to the attention of police after Swanson told a “mandated reporter” that he had serious sexual addictions and thinks of having sex with children and that shyness was the only thing keeping him from acting on his impulses.
Steven Jay Sande, 60, a math teacher at Aptos Junior High School, in Aptos, California has reportedly been arrested on allegations of a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old female student.
Reportedly, Sande was arrested and booked on suspicion of child molestation and oral copulation with a minor.
It is alleged that Sande had an ongoing sexual relationship with the girl during the spring and summer and that they had sexual contact both on campus and also in secluded spots in the Aptos area.
In conjunction with his arrest, investigators searched Sande’s house and seized possible evidence, including computers, but have yet to sift through all of the seized items.
Following his arrest and booking Sande was reportedly released on $50,000 bail.
Sande’s status with the school system is unknown at this time.
08/06/10 – Court Appearance
Reportedly, Steven Sande made a court appearance on Thursday and entered a not guilty plea on 20 counts of molesting a minor.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 15th.
Sande remains free on $50,000 bond.
Reportedly, Sande has resigned from the school system.

Norman Ray Bernard, 57, a social studies and drama teacher at Vernal Junior High School in Vernal, Utah has reportedly been arrested on allegations of the sexual abuse of a child.
Reportedly, Bernard was booked into the Uintah County Jail for investigation of five first-degree felony counts of aggravated sexual abuse of a child and four misdemeanor counts of sexual abuse of a minor.
According to a school system spokesperson, Bernard was placed on administrative leave on January 13th after someone notified Uintah School District officials that he had allegedly been involved in an inappropriate relationship with a 14-year-old female student. School officials reported the allegations to the Vernal Police Department and an investigation was begun.
Reportedly, following his arrest, Bernard remains in jail held in lieu of $132,400 bail.
Thus far, police and the school system have refused to release information regarding the age or gender of the alleged victim or victims and has also not indicated if the alleged victim or victims are present or former students at the school.

Charles Richard “Rick” Rogers, 46, a science teacher at Garrett Junior High School in Boulder City, Nevada has been arrested on 64 counts of possession of child pornography.
Rogers came to the attention of authorities on Wednesday when the Henderson, Nevada Police Department received an anonymous letter claiming Rogers had sexual images of minors. Along with the anonymous letter, was a thumb drive and two digital memory cards allegedly containing pornographic videos and images of young boys in sexual acts with men.
Reportedly, Rogers was picked up by police as he left school Thursday afternoon. Following an interview with police, he was arrested. Police obtained a warrant to search Rogers’ home, his vehicle and his classroom. Investigators confiscated computers, photographs, VHS cassette tapes, cameras and digital storage devices from both Rogers’ home and classroom.
Rogers has been placed on paid administrative leave by the school system while his case is investigated.
Following his arrest, Rogers was being held at the Clark County Detention Center in lieu of $192,000 bail.
