Robert Dale Rogers, 60, an eight-grade language arts teacher at Carroll Middle School, in Carroll, Iowa is being sought by police on a warrant charging him with the sexual exploitation of a student by a school employee.

A warrant for the arrest of Rogers was sworn out by Carroll Police on Thursday and reportedly police have been unable to locate Rogers, a 37-year employee of the Carroll school system, to take him into custody. It has been reported that prior to the issuance of the warrant that Rogers refused to be interviewed by police.
The alleged victim is reportedly a 16-year-old male who no longer attends Carroll Middle School.
Reportedly the investigation began when the former student came forward alleging the crimes took place during the 2006-2007 school year when the student was 15-years-old. After multiple interviews with the alleged victim, police determined sufficient cause existed to swear out the arrest warrant.
Allegedly the offenses took place at a private residence in Carroll and on multiple occasions. At this stage of the investigation there is only a single alleged victim.
School officials have indefinitely suspended Rogers.
2/13/08 - Guilty Plea
Robert Dale Rogers in a plea deal with prosecutors has pleaded guilty to charges of third-degree sexual abuse and sexual exploitation by a school employee. In exchange prosecutors dropped two other counts of third-degree sexual abuse.
Rogers faces up to 15 years in prison when sentenced in March.
4/03/08 - Sentencing
Robert Rogers has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
