Kermit Thomas, 71, of Hagerstown, Indiana who reportedly is a retired teacher in the Nettle Creek School District has been arrested on allegations that he exposed himself to children playing baseball in a public park.

It is alleged that a parent saw a man performing a sex act on himself while he was watching the children play baseball in Springwood Park in Richmond, Indiana.

It is further alleged that when the parent approached Thomas, that he continued to perform the sex act and asked if the parent wanted to watch.

Police were called and allegedly Thomas admitted to police that he exposed himself, but not while he watching the children play baseball.

Following his arrest, Thomas was taken to the Wayne County Jail, from which he was subsequently released on $255 bond.

Brooke Biggs, 27, a physical education teacher at Grissom Middle School and an assistant girls softball and basketball coach at Penn High School in Mishawaka, Indiana has reportedly been arrested on suspicion of child seduction.

Biggs came to the attention of authorities in July when the parents of a 16-year-old female softball player contacted police with concerns that she was in an inappropriate relationship with Biggs.

Reportedly the girls parents had forbidden her from talking to Biggs and took away her cell phone. It is alleged that Biggs bought the girl a new cell phone, and the two exchanged thousands of explicit text messages and that the girl’s parents caught her sneaking out to see Biggs.

Biggs was arrested yesterday and released on $2,000 cash bond today.

Reportedly Biggs was placed on administrative leave by the school system on September 4th.

03/31/09 - Brooke Biggs Arrested Again

On Monday, Brooke Biggs was arrested on allegations that she violated a protection order by allegedly meeting with the 16-year-old girl involved in the child seduction case.

Reportedly the girl’s father called police after allegedly seeing them together in a car.

Following her latest arrest, Biggs was reportedly held on $750 bond and has a court date of April 14 on the latest allegation.

04/01/09 - Biggs Released On Bail

In spite of the prosecution filing a motion to revoke Brooke Biggs bond, she was released on bond earlier today.

Biggs is scheduled to be in court April 14th to answer to charges she violated the court’s order not to have contact with the girl.

The court will make a ruling on whether to revoke Biggs’ bond on May 6th.

05/06/09 - Guilty Plea

Brooke Biggs has reportedly pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual misconduct with a minor and to a misdemeanor charge of invasion of privacy for contacting the victim, in violation of a court order.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors agreed to dismiss two counts of child seduction.

Biggs faces up to three years in prison on the sexual misconduct charge and a year on the misdemeanor conviction.

Reportedly, the deal calls for the sentences to be served consecutively.

06/18/09 - Sentencing

Earlier this month, Brooke Biggs was sentenced to a total of 36 months in jail, with all but 60 days of that sentence suspended.

She was also placed on probation for a period of three years and once again ordered to have no contact with the victim.

Lee Tibbetts, 33, a math teacher at John Marshall Community High School in Indianapolis, Indiana has reportedly been arrested on allegations of child molestation in a case alleging two male students as victims.

Reportedly, Tibbetts was arrested on five counts of child molestation and one count of child solicitation involving a second student.

It is alleged that a 13-year-old boy told police that he was repeatedly molested by Tibbetts in classrooms at the school and that the teacher threatened to flunk him if he ever told anyone.

A second boy claims that he was solicited for sex by Tibbetts.

Investigators are also looking into how the situation was handled by a female teacher when the 13-year-old allegedly told her about the alleged sexual abuse back in March and how a school administrator allegedly scorned Tibbetts after finding him and the boy in a locked classroom, but never suspected misconduct.

Tibbetts came to the attention of police by way of a tip on May 21st.

Tibbetts arrest came after three weeks of investigation and detectives believe there is a possibility of other victims coming forward.

06/16/09 - Formal Charges and More Details

Prosecutors have formally filed charges against Lee Tibbetts.

WTHR TV reports that these charges include six counts of child molestation and one count of child solicitation.

The Indianapolis Star reports that the charges are six counts of felony child molesting and one count each of vicarious sexual gratification and child solicitation.

Reportedly the school system has begun termination action againts Tibbetts who was previously placed on administrative leave.

06/17/09 - Initial Hearing

Lee Tibbetts appeared in court for an initial hearing this morning at which the judge entered a plea of not guilty in his behalf.

Tibbetts remains in the Marion County Jail in lieu $50,000 bond.

His trial is scheduled for August 10.
