William Arthur Stevens, 22, a former substitute teacher in the Twin Falls School District and an eighth grade volleyball coach at Vera C. O’Leary Junior High School, both in Twin Falls, Idaho, has been arrested and charged on allegations of the sexual abuse of a 15-year-old boy.

Stevens is charged with two felony counts of sex abuse of a child under 16, four felony counts of lewd conduct with a minor under 16 and a misdemeanor count of obscene material, a misdemeanor. The latter charge alleges that Stevens sent pictures of naked women to the boy’s cell phone.

It is alleged that in September Stevens asked the boy to hang out with him and that they drove around for a while and eventually end up at an the entrance to an RV park where numerous sex acts occurred between Stevens and the boy.

It is alleged that in a phone call between the boy and Stevens and which was recorded by police that Stevens made incriminating statements.

It is further alleged that Stevens admitted to police that he and the boy kissed, masturbated each other, and engaged in oral sex.

Stevens, who faces a maximum possible punishment of four life sentences plus 50 years, was being held in the Twin Falls County Jail on $101,000 bond with a preliminary hearing set for October 31st.

11/01/08 – Preliminary Hearing and Bond Reduction

On Friday a preliminary hearing was held for William Stevens.

At that hearing the judge lowered his bond from $100,000 to $20,000 on the felony charges.

The judge ordered Stevens to surrender his passport to the court if released on bond. If released on bond Stevens will be under house arrest at his parents’ residence.

01/07/09 – Preliminary Hearing Waived

William Stevens has waived his preliminary hearing and been bound over to 5th District Court on 2 felony counts of sex abuse of a child under 16, 4 felony counts of lewd conduct, and 1 misdemeanor charge of distribution of obscene material.

Reportedly Stevens is free on $20,000 bond.

04/10/09 – Guilty Plea In the Works

KMVT TV reports that William Arthur Stevens has requested to change his plea to guilty.

Stevens is set to appear before Fifth District Judge Randy Stoker on April 20th to change his plea to guilty.

04/20/09 – Plea Deal and Guilty Plea

William Arthur Stevens has reportedly pleaded guilty to one count of lewd conduct with a minor.

Prosecutors in turn dropped two counts of sexual abuse of a minor and three other counts of lewd conduct with a minor.

Under the terms of the plea deal, Stevens will be sentenced to 12 years in prison with six of those fixed, and six of them indeterminate.

Sentencing is set for June 15th.

Sentencing for William Arthur Stevens, scheduled for today, has been delayed until July 13th.

Scott Alan McQuigg, 45, who last year worked as a student teacher and substitute teacher at Centennial High School in Boise, Idaho has reportedly been arrested in an Internet sting conducted by Ada County sheriff’s detectives.

McQuigg is reportedly charged with sexual enticement of a minor over the Internet.

It is alleged that McQuigg chatted online with a detective posing as an underage teenage girl.

It is further alleged that he wrote that he wanted to have sexual contact with the girl, and arranged a meeting at a public place.

When McQuigg showed up for the alleged meeting he was taken into police custody.

Following his arrest, McQuigg was reportedly held in the Ada County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.

Michelle Farley, 40, a psychology teacher at Borah High School in Boise, Idaho has been arrested and charged with sexual battery of a teenage boy between 16 and 17 years old.

It is alleged that Farley admitted to police she had sexual contact with the student, who was 17 at the time.

It is further alleged that multiple incidents have occurred between the victim and Farley between May and October, 2008.

Farley has been arraigned on two counts of sexual battery of a child aged 16 or 17.

The judge set Farley’s bond at $10,000 and conditioned upon Farley not having any contact with anyone under 18 years of age, other than her own children.

Reportedly Farley has been with the school since 1994 and the school board is deciding whether it can place Farley on administrative leave but no decision has been made.

12/24/08 – Grand Jury Indictment

An Ada County grand jury has indicted Michelle Farley on eight counts of sexual battery of a student.

Her arraignment on the charges is set for January 12th.

Farley is currently on paid administrative leave from the school system.

01/16/09 – Not Guilty Plea

Michelle Farley has pleaded not guilty to eight counts of sexual battery during an appearance in a Boise courtroom this morning.

A judge ordered the married mother of two not to have any contact with children under 18 other than her own children.

04/17/09 – Guilty Plea

Reportedly, in a plea deal with prosecutors, Michelle Farley has pleaded guilty to a single count of sexual battery. As part of the plea deal, seven other sexual battery counts were dropped.

Farley will face up to one year in prison and 10 years of probation when sentenced, however a sentencing date was not set at today’s hearing.

Farley will reportedly have to register as a sex offender.

06/22/09 – Sentencing

Michelle Farley has reportedly received a 10-year suspended sentence.

She was also ordered to spend 6 months in the Ada County Jail and is required to successfully complete sex offender treatment while on probation.

Farley is required to register as a sex offender and not to have any contact with male juveniles under 18 except her own children.
