Matthew Engelson, 30, of Lawrenceville, New Jersey, a history teacher and girl’s soccer coach at North Brunswick High School has been charged with sexually assaulting a 17-year-old female student.

Reportedly Engelson has been charged with sexual assault and official misconduct, both second-degree crimes with maximum prison sentences of 10 years each.

Engelson came to the attention of authorities when school officials notified North Brunswick police they had information indicating Engelson was exchanging sexually explicit instant messages with the girl via computer. It is further alleged that Engelson met with the girl on Saturday in South Brunswick and the two had sex.

Police ask anyone with information about Engelson to call North Brunswick police Detective William Lovas at (732) 247-0922, ext. 313, or Investigator Michael Daniewicz of the prosecutor’s office sex crimes unit at (732) 745-3600.

09/29/08 - Guilty Plea

On Friday, Matthew Engelson pleaded guilty to a child endangerment count after reportedly admitted he fondled a 17-year-old female.

As part of the plea deal charges of sexual assault and official misconduct will be dismissed.

Sentencing is set for January 30, 2009 and Engleson remains free on $150,000 bond until that time.

Engelson faces up to five years in prison at sentencing.

Sean C. Dillon, 35, of Tumwater, Washington, a history teacher, boys basketball and girls tennis coach at Tenino High School in Tenino, Washington has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree sexual misconduct with a minor.

Reportedly Dillon came to the attention of police by way of a call on Friday from school officials who in turn had been contacted by a psychologist regarding Dillon. Few other details are available.

Dillon who has reportedly worked for the school for at least three years was called to the school superintendent’s office where he reportedly provided a statement and was subsequently arrested.

Dillon was booked into Thurston County Jail on Friday night and was expected to be arraigned today in Thurston County Superior Court.

)9/23/08 - Sean Dillion Released Without Charges

Sean Dillon was released from jail Monday with no charges filed because the statute of limitations for the alleged crimes has expired.

According to Thurston County Deputy Prosecuting Attorney John Skinder the female accuser, now 23, alleges that the criminal sexual misconduct by Sean C. Dillon occurred when she was between 16- and 18- years old.

Craig Edward Kelso, 38, a history teacher at Granger Junior High School in National City, California has been arrested on allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old former student.

Kelso was arrested this evening after a week-long investigation into allegations against Kelso, who had been placed on administrative leave from the school.

Kelso’s whereabouts were reportedly unknown as police were on the lookout for him. At one point today, Otay Ranch High School, where Kelso’s estranged wife reportedly works was locked down when Kelso was thought to be in the vicinity of the school and had reportedly threatened his wife. Swarms of Chula Vista and National City police officers responded and circled the campus with pistols and shotguns drawn as helicopters flew overhead.

Craig Kelso is currently being held in the San Diego jail on bond totalling $900,000.

07/18/08 - Arraignment

Today the public defender assigned to the case of Craig Kelso entered not guilty pleas on 10 of unlawful sex with a minor, four counts of oral copulation, three counts of penetration with a foreign object, one count of sodomy, two counts of lewd touching of a minor and one count of trying to dissuade a witness.

Bond for Kelso remains set at $900,000 and if he makes bond he is prohibited from having any communication with the alleged victim and has been ordered him to stay at least 100 feet from her at all times.

Kelso’s next court appearance is set for September 8th and his preliminary hearing is set for September 29th.

If convicted of all charges Kelso faces up to 60 years in prison.

09/08/08 - Guilty Plea

Craig Kelso has pleaded guilty to having sex with a minor, committing a lewd act on a child 14 or 15 years old and oral copulation on a person under 16.

Eighteen other charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal between prosecutors and Kelso.

Sentencing is set for October 7th and under the terms of the plea deal Kelso will be sentenced to four years and four months in state prison.

Troy S. Pittman, 33, a former history teacher and football coach at Lovell High School in Lovell, Wyoming has been bound over for trial in Park County on two counts of indecent liberties with a child.

It is alleged that Pittman provided alcohol and pornography to boys at a private residence and persuaded them to engage in specific sexual activities while he watched.

Although the alleged victims are now adults they were 13 to 15 years old at the time of the alleged incidents.

Pittman is reportedly under investigation and possibly facing additional charges of a similar nature in Big Horn County, Wyoming.

04/05/08 - Arraignment

On Thursday, Troy Pittman appeared for his arraignment and pleaded not guilty to two counts of indecent liberties with a child

No trial date has been set.

09/03/08 - Guilty Plea

Troy Pittman pleaded guilty today to one felony count of taking indecent liberties with a minor child.

The plea was part of a “package agreement” that included dismissing one count of the same charge in Big Horn County and the second of two pending counts of the same charge in Park County.

District Court Judge John Brackley gave Pittman a suspended sentence of three to five years in state prison, contingent on Pittman’s successful completion of five years of supervised probation.

Pittman will be required to register as a sex offender.

David James Wagner, aka “Jamie” Wagner, 32, a history teacher and softball coach at Madison Junior/Senior High School in Madison Township, Ohio has been arrested for allegedly “engaging in sexual activity” with a 17-year-old girl.

Wagner has recently been under investigation for an inappropriate relationship with an 18-year-old female student. That investigation led detectives to the 17-year-old girl.

Wagner has been charged with two counts of sexual battery, a third-degree felony.

Police say that Wagner admitted to having a sexual relationship with the girl. It is alleged that Wagner and the alleged victim had two separate sexual encounters in April and May of this year.

Following his arrest Wagner was being held in the Butler County Jail in lieu of $20,080 bond.

Wagner, in his second year with the school and reportedly the president of the teachers union, has been placed on administrative leave.

On Monday evening the Madison Township School Board voted 3-2 not to accept the resignation of David Wagner. At the meeting the father of the alleged victim urged the board members to reject Wagner’s resignation and instead begin termination of his employment.

06/11/08 - David Wagner Fired

By a vote of 4-0 the Madison Township School Board voted to fire David Wagner.

07/24/08 - Guilty Plea

David “Jamie” Wagner has pleaded guilty to one count of sexual battery.

As a result of his guilty plea Wagner faces up to five years in prison, a $10,000 fine or both at sentencing.

Wagner will be classified as a Tier III sexual offender, required to register with the sheriff’s office every 90 days for the rest of his life.

08/28/08 - Sentencing

David Wagner made a tearful appeal for leniency at today’s sentencing hearing saying that his wife and two small children needed him but that appeal fell on deaf ears as the judge sentenced Wagner to 3 years in prison.

Wagner will also be required to register as a sex offender for life.

He has already surrendered his teaching certificate.

At Wagner’s sentencing hearing the victim’s mother spoke directly to Wagner saying, “What you did to our daughter is inexcusable. At her softball games, you could look her Dad and I in the eye. Speak to us. All the while knowing what you were planning on doing. Unconscionable.”
