Kelsey Peterson, 25, a sixth-grade teacher and basketball coach at Lexington Middle School, in Lexington, Nebraska, is the subject of a nationwide search and is wanted for kidnapping, child abuse and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Peterson is accused of running off with Fernando Rodriguez, a 13-year-old male student. Peterson at the time of her disappearance was under investigation for having a sexual relationship with the boy.

Peterson was placed on administrative leave last week and the school contacted police to report that administrators had reason to believe that Peterson was having some sort of relationship with Rodriguez.

According to police, correspondence uncovered in an investigation shows the two have had a sexual relationship for some time.

Letters allegedly sent by Rodriguez while living at a home for at-risk boys in Alliance refers to teacher Kelsey Peterson as his “Baby Gurl” and says that their relationship is about more than sex. It is also alleged that correspondence written by Peterson and found on school computers supports the allegations against Peterson.

(9/27/07 - Initial BBT Report)

Jerry L. Angus, 52, a former health sciences and medical therapy teacher and softball coach at Spring Hill High School, in Columbia, Tennessee has been indicted by a Davidson County grand jury on 17 counts of sex offenses ranging from rape to sexual battery.

Reportedly the charges stem from an incident on April 2 at the Opryland Hotel.

In May of this year, Angus was charged with five counts of sexual battery by an authority figure in a case alleging a student victim.

Angus was subsequently indicted by a Maury County grand jury.

1/16/08 - Not Guilty In Maury County

On Monday a Maury County jury found Jerry Angus NOT GUILTY of the sexual battery of a 15-year-old female student.

Angus faces one more trial in Maury County and additional charges in Davidson County.

08/26/08 - Guilty

After 3 days of deliberations, a jury has found Jerry Angus guilty on charges of misconduct, sexual battery by an authority figure and statutory rape. Angus was found not guilty of one count of sexual battery by an authority figure and one count of rape.

The incidents for which Angus was found guilty occurred at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, Tennessee last year.

Sentencing is set for October 3rd.

(07/15/08 - Initial BBT Report)

Craig Edward Kelso, 38, a history teacher at Granger Junior High School in National City, California has been arrested on allegations that he had a sexual relationship with a 15-year-old former student.

Kelso was arrested this evening after a week-long investigation into allegations against Kelso, who had been placed on administrative leave from the school.

Kelso’s whereabouts were reportedly unknown as police were on the lookout for him. At one point today, Otay Ranch High School, where Kelso’s estranged wife reportedly works was locked down when Kelso was thought to be in the vicinity of the school and had reportedly threatened his wife. Swarms of Chula Vista and National City police officers responded and circled the campus with pistols and shotguns drawn as helicopters flew overhead.

Craig Kelso is currently being held in the San Diego jail on bond totalling $900,000.

07/18/08 - Arraignment

Today the public defender assigned to the case of Craig Kelso entered not guilty pleas on 10 of unlawful sex with a minor, four counts of oral copulation, three counts of penetration with a foreign object, one count of sodomy, two counts of lewd touching of a minor and one count of trying to dissuade a witness.

Bond for Kelso remains set at $900,000 and if he makes bond he is prohibited from having any communication with the alleged victim and has been ordered him to stay at least 100 feet from her at all times.

Kelso’s next court appearance is set for September 8th and his preliminary hearing is set for September 29th.

If convicted of all charges Kelso faces up to 60 years in prison.

09/08/08 - Guilty Plea

Craig Kelso has pleaded guilty to having sex with a minor, committing a lewd act on a child 14 or 15 years old and oral copulation on a person under 16.

Eighteen other charges were dismissed as part of the plea deal between prosecutors and Kelso.

Sentencing is set for October 7th and under the terms of the plea deal Kelso will be sentenced to four years and four months in state prison.

10/07/08 - Sentencing

In keeping with his plea agreement, Craig Edward Kelso has been sentenced to four years and four months in prison.

Kelso will be required to register as a sex offender.

Randy L. DeJaynes, 57, a former English teacher at DeLand-Weldon High School, in DeLand, Illinois who pleaded guilty in August to one count of possession of child pornography has been sentenced in Macon County.

DeJaynes, who is also the former pastor of Christ Lutheran Church in Decatur, Illinois, was sentenced to two years probation and is prohibited from having contact the victim.

DeJaynes also must undergo sex offender treatment, pay fines and restitution totaling $12,945 and forfeit the computer seized by police.

The child pornography charge in Macon County arose from DeJaynes giving a teenage boy at DeLand-Weldon High School a digital camera with the understanding the boy was to take a picture of his genitals and e-mail it to DeJaynes. Police found one picture of the boy’s genitals on DeJaynes computer. As part of the August plea deal prosecutors in Macon County dropped three additional child pornography counts.

DeJaynes also faces three charges of aggravated battery and two charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse in Piatt County. Those charges allege DeJaynes squeezed the buttocks of several of his male students at DeLand-Weldon High School, kissed one on the head and twice rubbed his sex organ against the knee of a student for the purpose of his personal sexual arousal. Reportedly these charges will be dropped when DeJaynes makes a court appearance in Piatt County on Wednesday.

Douglas Conrad, 35, a school bus driver for the Saratoga Springs, New York school system was arrested last month on allegations that he had forced sexual contact with two 14-year-old boys, at his home after school.

The alleged sexual abuse of the boys is said to have taken place over an eight month period last year.

Conrad is charged with four counts of forcible touching on allegations by the boys that he repeated touched them improperly.

Conrad is charged with four misdemeanor counts of forcible touching alleging multiple instances at his apartment last year in which he allegedly fondled the two teenagers.

Conrad was initially placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the case however he has now reportedly resigned.

Later reports indicate police believe there is a third victim, a disabled boy Conrad met on his bus and sexually abused in 2006.

Court Appearances

Douglas Conrad made a court appearance to answer misdemeanor abuse charges. His case was adjourned until May 28.

The mother of two of the alleged victims has been charged on allegations that she had knowledge of the abuse and failed to report it to authorities. Her attorney turned down a plea deal and she will be back in court on May 30th.

05/08/08 - New Allegations

An alleged victim has stepped forward with more serious allegations against Douglas Conrad.

The allegations are that the boy was raped multiple times by Conrad between 2006 and 2007.

10/07/08 - Plea Deal and Sentencing

Last week, in a plea deal with prosecutors Douglas Conrad admitted to having sexual contact with three boys under the age of 14.

Today Conrad was sentenced to 60 days in the county jail.

Conrad will be on probation for six years following his release and is prohibited from any contact with his victims.

Conrad was also ordered to pay $2,520 and register with the state as a Level 2 sex offender.
