Ashley Esposito, 24, a former student-teacher at Turner Ashby High School in Bridgewater, Virginia has been arrested on felony charges of sodomy, and taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship.

Reportedly Esposito worked at the school from October to December of last year through a program as a student at James Madison University.

The alleged illicit activity is said to have occurred shortly after she left her job as a student-teacher. Reportedly Virginia case law states that a previous relationship can be considered if it occurs soon after the supervisory relationship ended.

Following her arrest Esposito was released on $3,000 secured bond.

If convicted she faces a maximum of 10 years in prison.

Esposito has a court date set for May 8.

Ashley Esposito made a court appearance yesterday at which time a judge continued her case until September 11th.

Esposito remains free on bond.

09/12/08 - Esposito Found Guilty In First Case

Ashley Esposito was found guilty Thursday of contributing to the delinquency of a minor for buying alcohol for former students and providing them with booze at a party at her Harrisonburg apartment.

Esposito was sentenced to 10 months in jail, with six months suspended and fined $350.

Felony charges of sodomy and taking indecent liberties with a child by a person in a custodial or supervisory relationship and another misdemeanor charge of contributing to the delinquency of a minor are going before a grand jury on Monday.

The felony charges carry a sentence of up to 10 years in prison.

Meagan Belnap, 20, a temporary worker at Syringa Middle School in Caldwell, Idaho has been indicted by a grand jury on four counts of sexual abuse of a child.

Belnap reportedly worked as a “tracker”, a person that takes care of special needs students by following them around to class, reading to them and otherwise assisting them around school.

It is alleged that during the last school year that Belnap inappropriately touched one child and engaged in inappropriate conduct with three others.

Belnap came to the attention of authorities when a school resource officer reportedly “heard rumors” from students regarding Belnap. An investigation was begun and the results turned over to prosecutors who in turn took the case to the grand jury.

Following her arrest and booking, Belnap was being held in the Canyon County Jail in lieu of $75,000 bond.

Stephanie Kay Bellino, 39, an attendance clerk and in-school suspension and detention supervisor at Fremont Middle School, in Florence, Colorado has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust.

Following her arrest Thursday evening Bellino was being held in the Fremont County jail in lieu of $50,000 cash bond.

Bellino came to the attention of police in mid-August by way of contact from “concerned people”.

Police are refusing to release any additional information, saying the investigation is ongoing.

Bellino has been placed on paid administrative leave pending the outcome of the case.

09/04/08 - Additional Information

The alleged victim is a 13-year-old boy who is a former student at Fremont Middle School.

Bellino came to the attention of authorities after teachers had spoken with students who recently found text messages from Bellino on a classmate’s cell phone left behind at a party. The students recognized the source phone number of the texts as Bellino’s, and said she freely gave her number out to students.

Allegedly the text messages were sexual in nature. The boy was interviewed by investigators and denied any sexual relationship with Bellino. The boy subsequently admitted to having sex five times with Bellino at her home, in June and July.

A police officer using the boy’s cell phone to pose as the boy and contact Bellino. It is alleged that during the exchange of text messages that the messages from Bellino became sexual in nature.

Dana L. Meeks, 32, a substitute teacher at Crossett High School in Crossett, Arkansas has reportedly been arrested charged with three counts of first degree sexual assault of a 17-year-old student.

Reportedly the sexual contacts are alleged to have occurred away from the school.

Following her arrest Meeks was released on $10,000 bond.

Shebana Rajput, 35, a former science teacher at Jones Senior High School in Trenton, North Carolina has been arrested on allegations that she sexually assaulted a 17-year-old male student.

Rajput is charged with 8 counts of sexual activity with a student and one count of sex offense with a student on allegations of nine separate incidents of sexual activity between Rajput and the student at Rajput’s home in Lenoir County.

It is alleged that the sexual activity between Rajput and the student took place between March and May of this year.

Following her arrest and initial court appearance Rajput is being held in lieu of $100,000 secured bond.

An attorney for the Jones County Board of Education has said that Shebana Rajput was suspended in May and resigned from the school system on May 21st.
