Sara L. Strahm, 28, a special education teacher and girls’ varsity basketball coach at Pike High School, in Indianapolis, Indiana has reportedly been arrested on allegations of a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old female student.

Reportedly, Strahm was arrested on Friday on charges of child seduction.

Strahm came to the attention of police when school officials notified them of an allegation of sexual misconduct against Strahm.

Strahm has reportedly been placed on administrative leave by the school system.

According to the Pike High School website, Strahm attended Ben Davis High School where she played volleyball, basketball, and softball and was the first athlete in school history to receive 12 varsity letters and was named the Marion County Coaches’ Female Athlete of the Year.

Reportedly, before working at Pike High School, Strahm Strahm served as a varsity assistant coach at Decatur Central, as head coaching at Danville High School and was a third-grade teacher in Wayne Township, while serving as the JV basketball and volleyball coach at Ben Davis High School.

12/24/09 – Initial Hearing

At an initial hearing on Wednesday, Sara Strahm entered a not-guilty plea to six counts of child seduction.

It is alleged that Strahm admitted she had sex with a 17-year-old player on her team at least five times between September 1st and December 17th. It is further alleged in court documents that Strahm told authorities that she loved the girl.

Court documents indicate that Strahm came to the attention of authorities after the girl told another coach of the alleged relationship.

Indystar.com reports:

The affidavit said the 17-year-old student who reportedly was involved with the coach told Tiffany Thomas, another member of the school coaching staff. That information on the allegations was given to Pike Township Schools police and then passed along to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, which started its investigation Friday, the affidavit read.

Reportedly, in response to rumors about Strahm and a team member, school administrators had warned Strahm against inappropriate contact with members of the basketball team prior to her arrest. At the time of the warning, Strahm reportedly denied any inappropriate contact.

Strahm remains free on $5,000 bond posted after her arrest last Friday.

Abigail Anne Holloway, 33, a teacher at Saint Mary’s Academy in Englewood, Colorado has been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old female student in California.

It is alleged that Holloway had a sexual relationship with the student when she was a teacher at Kings Academy, a Christian prep school in Sunnyvale, California. Sunnyvale police say that the alleged relationship began in 2001 and continued for years.

Investigators say that Holloway ended her employment at King’s Academy in 2003, and that from 2003 to 2005 she worked at several other schools in Santa Clara County, California and that she left California in 2005 and moved to Colorado.

Holloway is expected to have an extradition hearing in Colorado and be transferred to the Santa Clara County Jail next week. Holloway will face “multiple counts of child abuse that are sexual in nature” according to her arrest warrant.

Investigators reported becoming aware of the alleged abuse in December and are still trying to determine if there may have been other children victimized by Holloway, either at King’s Academy or other Santa Clara County schools.

03/09/09 – Case Update

Reportedly a college counselor told investigators in California last fall of the alleged relationship between the then 13-year-old student and Abigail Holloway.

The alleged victim has reportedly provided police with a 2½-inch-thick binder with love letters, cards and poems she alleges were from Holloway.

Additionally, investigators recorded a phone call between the girl and Holloway in which the two talked about their alleged sexual encounters and Holloway followed up with an e-mail the next day.

It is alleged that in that e-mail Holloway wrote, “For the longest time, I felt like maybe I had tricked you into our relationship somehow,” the e-mail states. “It was very real to me, and the best time of my life so far.”

04/15/09 – Arraignment

According to the Santa Clara County District Attorney’s Office, Abigail Holloway was arraigned on Tuesday in Santa Clara County Superior Court on seven counts of lewd or lascivious acts on a child age 14 or 15, four counts of oral copulation with a minor and four counts of sexual penetration of a person younger than 18.

Holloway is scheduled to to be back in court to enter a plea on May 12th.

Bail for Holloway was set in the amount of $150,000.

07/29/09 – No Contest Plea

Abigail Holloway has reportedly pleaded no contest to four counts involving sexual contact with a minor.

Holloway pleaded no contest to two counts of lewd or lascivious acts on a child age 14 or 15; one count of oral copulation with a minor and one count of sexual penetration of a person under the age of 18.

As part of the plea deal, prosecutors dropped 15 counts of sexual misconduct with a minor.

Holloway faces up to five years in prison when sentenced on September 1st.

12/11/09 – Sentencing

Abigail Holloway has reportedly been sentenced to two years in state prison for molesting a student.

Prosecutors sought the maximum sentence of five years.

Leslie Klemansky, assistant softball coach at McLennan Community College, in Waco, Texas has reportedly been arrested on allegations of alleged sexual assault of a 15-year-old Kansas girl she coached at a summer softball camp in Oklahoma.

Reportedly, Klemansky is charged with sexual performance by a child and two counts of sexual assault of a child.

Klemansky is accused of flying the teenager from Kansas to Texas to engage in sexual activity in June of this year.

Police say that the alleged victim texted Klemansky, who then told the girl that she was a lesbian and that she was interested in her. It is further alleged that Klemansky asked her to send a photo of herself without clothes on, which she did and that the Klemansky and the alleged victim engaged in phone sex.

It is further alleged that Klemansky told the girl that she loved her and wanted to take her to Hawaii and marry her.

Police also say that Klemansky invited the girl to go to a hitting camp in New Braunfels and paid all expenses except for the plane ticket but instead brought the girl to Waco where the two and engaged in sex acts in Waco at least three times.

Klemansky has reportedly been placed on paid administrative leave by the school.

Following her arrest on Tuesday, Klemansky was released on $60,000 bond.

McKell Shurtliff, 23, a former assistant softball coach at Payson High School in Payson, Utah has been arrested for allegedly engaging in sexual relations with a 15-year-old girl on the team.

Reportedly, Shurtliff is charged with three counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor, which is a third-degree felony.

It is alleged that Shurtliff engaged in a three-month sexual relationship with the girl beginning in March, 2008 and that there were multiple sexual encounters which occurred within that time frame.

It is further alleged that Shurtliff admitted to the relationship and sexual encounters, telling police she knew it was wrong, but she loved the victim.

Following her arrest, Shurtliff was reportedly being held in the Utah County Jail in lieu of $15,000 cash bail.

Shurtliff was reportedly “released” by the school, at the time the investigation into the allegations began in the fall of 2008.

10/08/09 – Guilty Plea To Lesser Charge

In a plea deal with prosecutors, McKell Shurtliff has reportedly pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of lewdness involving a child.

In return, prosecutors dropped two felony counts of unlawful sexual activity with a minor and a felony count lewdness involving a child.

Sentencing is set for November 17th and Shurtliff faces a maximum of one year in jail.

11/18/09 – Sentencing

McKell Shurtliff has been sentenced to 120 days in jail and two years of probation.

Shurtliff is also required to complete sex-offender treatment and will be on the state sex-offender registry for 10 years.

Megan Sainsbury, 31, a physical education teacher at Prospect High School in Saratoga, California has been arrested on suspicion of having an inappropriate relationship with a female student.

Reportedly court documents indicate that Sainsbury was arrested Wednesday on three misdemeanor counts of “annoying or molesting” a 17-year-old student.

It is allleged that between October 2007 and January 2009 Sainsbury and the student kissed and touched and exchanged text messages of a romantic nature. It is further alleged that Sainsbury bought the girl gifts, including a cell phone, to allegedly entice the her to continue their relationship. It has not been alleged that Sainsbury and the girl engaged in sex.

Following her arrest Sainsbury was released on bond and is scheduled to be arraigned on April 27.

Reportedly Sainsbury has been placed on leave by the school system.

11/10/09 – No Contest Plea

In a plea deal with prosecutors, Megan Sainsbury has reportedly pleaded no contest to one felony count of attempted sexual penetration.

Sentencing is set for December 18th and Sainsbury faces a maximum of one year in the county jail.

Sainsbury’s attorney has indicated that after Sainsbury serves most of her sentence, he plans to seek a hearing to request that her felony be reduced to a misdemeanor.
