Dayna Crenshaw, 33, girls’ basketball coach at Nacogdoches High School in Nacogdoches, Texas has been arrested and charged with having an improper relationship with a female student.

It is alleged that Crenshaw had a four month sexual relationship with an 18-year-old female student between December 2007 and March 31, 2008.

The alleged victim told police that she and Crenshaw engaged in sex acts at the home of Crenshaw’s mother, a residence close to the high school. The girl allegedly provided police with a detailed map of the inside of Crenshaw’s mother’s residence and described tattoos on Crenshaw’s body which she allegedly observed during encounters with Crenshaw.

The alleged victim reportedly graduated from the school last week.

Following her arrest Crenshaw was arraigned and subsequently released on $15,000 bond. Her case is expected to be presented to a grand jury.

Reportedly Crenshaw has been placed on administrative leave by the school system.

08/10/08 - Guilty Plea and Sentencing

Dayna Crenshaw has waived her right to indictment and entered a guilty plea to improper relationship with a student and received a sentence of five years deferred adjudication, which is basically probation.

Crenshaw must permanently surrender her teaching certificate, pay $5,000 in restitution to the school system, pay a $2,000 fine and submit her resignation to the school system.

Lori Ann Schulz, 33, a former band teacher at Marshall Middle School and Junior High School in Marshall, Minnesota has been charged on allegations of having sexual contact with a 14-year-old female student.

It is alleged that Schulz had sexual contact with the girl, who was a junior high band member, from January to May of 2003.

Schulz has been charged with sexual conduct in the second degree and and sexual conduct in the fourth degree.

08/09/08 - Guilty

Lori Schulz has entered an Alford plea (no contest) a charge of criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree.

In light of Schulz’s plea the criminal sexual conduct in the second degree count was dismissed.

Schulz received a stay of imposition on a sentence and must serve 90 days in jail.

Schulz must have no contact with the victim or the victim’s family and follow “other conditions” as well as pay a small fine.

Kanesa Hopkins, a 31-year-old a 7th grade math teacher at Westview Middle School in Goose Creek, SC has been arrested on allegations of criminal sexual misconduct with a then 14-year-old female student during 2003 and 2004.

Hopkins has been a teacher at the school for 8 years and is the 2007 Westview Middle School’s “Teacher of the Year”, so selected by her fellow teachers.

In addition to being the girl’s 7th grade teacher Hopkins was also her Sunday school teacher and the student and teacher started writing letters to each other in 2001 and became close. By December, 2002 church officials had begun expressing concern about the amount of time the two spent together. Investigators say the relationship turned sexual in January, 2003 and continued until October, 2004.

Hopkins who was arrested Monday has been placed on paid administrative leave by the Berkeley County School District.

She is charged with two counts each of committing a lewd act upon a child under 16 and second-degree criminal sexual conduct with a minor in Goose Creek, SC and with one count of criminal sexual conduct with a minor in North Charleston, SC.

Following her arrest Hopkins was held at the Charleston County Detention Center on bail totaling $300,000.

08/06/08 - Guilty Plea and Sentencing

On July 17th, Kanesa Hopkins was found guilty after pleading guilty to a reduced charge of Lewd Act Upon a Minor Under 16. The original charge of Criminal Sexual Conduct With a Minor was dismissed.

As a result of her plea deal, Hopkins received a 5 year suspended sentence and 2 years probation.

A review of both the South Carolina and National Sex Offender data bases do not reveal a Kanesa Hopkins as registered, apparently meaning that she was not required to register as a sex offender.

William Samuel Paxton, 42, a former music instructor and color-guard coach at five Jefferson County, Colorado schools has been arrested on allegations that he sexually assaulted female students.

Paxton, who taught at Arvada High School in 1995-1996, at Alameda High School in 2006-2007 and advised, volunteered or consulted at D’Evelyn, Jefferson and Lakewood high schools was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

Reportedly investigators say that they became aware of the assaults and began looking into Paxton’s time at the five schools and believe that there may be more victims. Anyone with more information is urged to contact the tip line at 303-271-5612.

05/30/08 - Guilty Plea

Reportedly William Paxton has pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of a 17-year-old female student.

Paxton who faces up to 12 years in prison when he is sentenced in July will also serve 10 years to life of intensive supervision as a sex offender.

07/31/08 - Sentencing

William Paxton has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Following the completion of his prison sentence Paxton will be on probation from 10 years to life and under intensive supervision for sex offenders.

Keri Ann Brekne, (Keriann Brekne) 28, a seventh-grade social studies teacher at Lopatcong Township Middle School in Phillipsburg, New Jersey has been arrested and charged with sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl.

The sexual assault is alleged to have occurred at the teacher’s home in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania and at the girl’s home in Lopatcong Township in New Jersey.

Brekne is charged in Pennsylvania with involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, aggravated indecent assault and corruption of minors and was being held in lieu of 10 percent of $75,000 bail.

Brekne is charged in New Jersey with second-degree sexual assault, second-degree endangering the welfare of a child by engaging in sexual conduct, third-degree aggravated criminal sexual contact and fourth-degree criminal sexual contact. Her bond in New Jersey is set at $150,000.

1/29/08 - Arraignment

Brekene was arraigned Monday in New Jersey.

Brekene’s attorney indicates that he has filed a bail reduction motion in an attempt to get the $150,000 bail in New Jersey reduced. Brekene’s bail in Pennsylvania is 10 percent of $75,000.

2/21/08 - Suspension

Keri Ann Brekne has been suspended with pay by the township school board with the suspension retroactive to January 23, the day of her arrest.

2/29/08 - Guilty Plea

Keriann Brekne agreed today to plead guilty to five counts of aggravated indecent assault in Pennsylvania.

Brenke’s attorney says he client agreed to the plea to spare the girl from testifying.

Reportedly she will plead guilty to similar offenses in New Jersey next month.

3/28/08 - Plea Deal In NJ Rejected

Keri Ann Brekne has rejected a plea deal in Warren County New Jersey under which she would be required to serve up to 10 years in prison. Brekne faces additional charges and trail in Northampton County. The case in Warren County will be turned over to a grand jury.

07/09/08 - Guilty Plea and Jailed

Within minutes of Keri Brekne admitting in court that she had in fact sexually assaulted a student, her bond was revoked and she was ordered held in the county prison until formal sentencing on October 3rd.

As a result of her guilty plea Brekne faces up to 50 years in prison.

The judge in addition to ordering Brekne jailed also ordered that she undergo psychological and psychiatric evaluations.

Brekne will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.

07/23/08 - New Jersey Plea Coming

The attorney for Keri Ann Brekne has filed a petition with the court requesting that Brekne receive a furlough for July 31st so she can go to New Jersey and plead guilty to related sex crimes against the same child.

Reportedly Brekne will be taken to New Jersey by authorities to plead guilty to one count of sexual assault of the same student. The crime to which she will plead guilty carries with it a five year prison term.

07/31/08 - Guilty Plea in New Jersey

Today Keri Ann Brekne pleaded guilty in Warren County, New Jersey to a second-degree sexual assault charge.

As a result of her guilty plea, Brekne who is already facing up to 50 years in prison in Pennsylvania is now facing up to 10 years in prison in New Jersey.
