Gina Marie Watring, a teacher’s assistant for dance and drama at Creekside Elementary School in Durham, North Carolina has been arrested on allegations of having sex with a male student, who is reportedly 10-years-old.
Gina Watring is reportedly charged with two counts of first degree sex offense with a child.
Watring, who turned herself in to investigators, is reportedly being held at the Durham County Jail in lieu of $100,000 bond.
Watring, who worked for the school system since November, 2006 reportedly resigned yesterday.
04/30/09 – Bond Reduction Denied
Gina Watring appeared for an initial appearance in court today and defense attorney Steve Monks asked that Watring’s bond be reduced from $100,000 to $20,000, saying that Watring is “a wonderful person” who has been married for 13 years and has three children.
The judge denied the bond reduction request.
Monks indicated that he was only representing Watring for the initial appearance and the judge appointed a public defender to represent Watring.
Watring’s next court date was set for May 13.

Darrold Wayne Frisbie Jr., 36, a Quincy University student who is also a student teacher at Adams Elementary School in Quincy, Illinois has reportedly been arrested on allegations of inappropriate conduct with a 16-year-old boy.
Reportedly, Frisbie was arrested early Monday and jailed in Adams County on charges of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, delivery of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
A police spokesperson has indicated that an investigation began Sunday when the alleged victim complained. It is also alleged that Frisbie gave prescription pain medication to juveniles.
Police served a search warrant at Frisbie’s residence and say that they recovered a small amount of a controlled substance and numerous drug paraphernalia items.
A spokesperson for the school district has indicated that Frisbie will no longer be teaching at the school.
05/05/10 – Preliminary Hearing Delayed
A change of judge has forced a delay in the preliminary hearing for Darrold Frisbie.
The preliminary hearing is now set for May 12th.
Reportedly, Frisbie remains free on bond.

Tyrone Farrar, 30, a security guard and girls’ basketball coach at Frost Elementary School in Lawrence, Massachusetts has reportedly been indicted by an Essex County Grand Jury on allegations of the rape of a now 14-year-old girl.
Reportedly, Farrar was indicted on three charges of aggravated rape of a child and one count of driving under the influence of drugs.
Farrar was arrested in Salisbury on July 31st when police spotted his van being driven erratically. When police pulled the vehicle over they found the girl inside. When officers interviewed the girl she allegedly told them that a sexual relationship had been going on between Farrar and her for a year.
The girl told police she lied to her mother about staying at a friend’s house so she could be with Farrar.
Police allege that just prior to being stopped by police that Farrar had tried to register at a motel in Salisbury but he only had $83 and the room cost $85 so they left to find more money. It was at that point that police stopped the van.

Steven Kenneth Derlacki, 28, a second and third grade teacher at Fullerton IV Elementary School in West Roseburg, Oregon has reportedly been arrested on allegations of possessing child pornography.
Derlacki was arrested on July 4th supposedly on 500 counts of First Degree Encouraging the Sexual Abuse of a Child.
Reportedly, Derlacki is currently facing four felony counts of encouraging child sex abuse, two in the 1st degree, and two in the second degree.
Derlacki came to the attention of police, on July 4, they received information that Derlacki may have files containing child pornography on his laptop computer.
Reportedly officers contacted Derlacki at his residence and got consent to search the files on his computer. Police allege that they discovered more than 500 files containing images or video of children involved in sexual activity.
Following his arrest, Derlacki was reportedly being held in the Douglas County Jail in lieu of bail.
According to a statement released by Roseburg Public Schools, Derlacki is not allowed on school property during the course of the legal investigation.

Barry P. Morris, 63, a fourth-grade teacher at West Ridge Road Elementary School in Greece, New York has reportedly been arrested on allegations of the sexual abuse a 13-year-old girl.
According to WHAM TV, Morris has been charged with a first degree criminal act, formerly called sodomy, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Reportedly, the alleged victim is not a student of Morris and that the alleged crimes are unrelated to his role as a teacher.
Morris was arrested on July 31st and was subsequently released on $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond.
According to a school system spokesperson, Morris, who has taught at the school for 19 years, has been placed on paid administrative leave.
Barry Morris is the second Greece, New York teacher arrested for alleged sexual assault in the past year. Jeffrey Hoffman was arrested last November on allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Jessica Heather Defoor, 34, a second-grade teacher at Danville-Neel Elementary School in Danville, Alabama has been arrested on suspicion of second-degree sexual abuse.
Defoor was arrested on allegations of having inappropriate contact with a female student in February 2006.
Reportedly the alleged inappropriate contact was not reported by the student and her mother until late in 2007.
Following her arrest, Defoor was released on $500 bond.
Reportedly, Defoor has been placed on paid administrative leave by the school system.
08/03/09 – Grand Jury Indictment
Jessica Heather Defoor has been arrested a second time. The latest arrest is the result of a Morgan County grand jury indicting her last month on two counts.
One count of the indictment reportedly alleges that Defoor enticed a child under age 16 with lascivious intent to propose an act of sexual intercourse, sodomy or other sexual acts.
The second count alleges that Defoor committed second-degree sexual abuse by subjecting a child aged less than 16 years old and older than 12 to sexual contact.
Defoor reportedly faces a maximum penalty of one to 10 years in prison if convicted.
