Robert Reinhardt, 44, the former Dean of Students at The Gunnery in Washington, Connecticut has reportedly been arrested on allegations of the sexual assault of three victims, at least one of whom is a male student.

Reinhardt is reportedly charged with various counts, including second-degree sexual assault, one count of fourth-degree sexual assault and two counts of risk of injury to a minor.

At his arraignment this morning bond for Reinhardt was reportedly set in the amount of $750,000 and he was subsequently released on bond.

Reinhardt came to the attention of authorities in June when a student told his mother that a teacher brought him to the teacher’s room and touched him inappropriately. The mother called state police who obtained two warrants to search the teacher’s dormitory and sent evidence to the state forensics laboratory for testing. Over the course of their investigation, state police reportedly found three victims, two of whom are under 16 years of age.

When asked, Reinhardt said he had no comment about the allegations and his attorney, William Dow, said the claims are all false.

A spokesperson for The Gunnery said Reinhardt no longer works at the private college prep school.

10/06/09 – Fourth Alleged Victim Comes Forward

Robert Reinhardt was arraigned Tuesday afternoon in Litchfield Superior Court on charges of second-degree sexual assault and providing liquor to a minor, the result of a fourth alleged victim coming forward.

Judge James Ginocchio ordered an additional bond of $200,000 in light of the new charges.

10/17/09 – Court Appearance

On Friday, Robert Reinhardt made a court appearance and pleaded not guilty Friday to charges he sexually molested students at the Gunnery school.

Reinhardt remains free on $950,000 in bonds.

His next court date is set for November 17th.

James Oliphant, 59, a social worker at Skinner Road School in Vernon, Connecticut has reportedly been arrested on allegations of sexually assaulting a pre-teen boy.

Oliphant is reportedly facing multiple charges.

In one report the charges are described as three counts of first-degree sexual assault and five counts of impairing the morals of a minor.

In another report the charges are described as one charge of sex assault in the first degree and five counts of risk of injury to a minor.

In both reports, Oliphant was reportedly released on $150,000 bond and has been suspended by the school. Reportedly, Oliphant was initially suspended with pay but he is now suspended without pay.

The arrest warrant for Oliphant has been sealed, preventing detailed information from being released regarding the specific allegations.

However, the alleged victim is described as not a Vernon student but someone with whom Oliphant was acquainted and the alleged assaults are said to have occurred within the past year.

Jeffrey Donald Sack, 40, a science teacher at Valley Regional High School in Deep River, Connecticut has reportedly been arrested and charged on allegations of misconduct with a minor.

Sack is reportedly charged with risk of injury to a minor, employing a minor in an obscene performance, and enticing a minor by computer.

Sack was arrested and arraigned last Friday and was subsequently released on $75,000 bond.

Few details of the allegations against Sack are available as the arrest warrant has been sealed for 14 days. However, school officials indicated that the alleged criminal conduct did not involve anyone at Valley Regional High School.

Sack has reportedly been placed on administrative leave by the school system.
