Yvette Starzyk, 26, an former athletic trainer and substitute teacher at Hinkley High School in Aurora, Colorado has been charged with Sexual Assault on a Child – Pattern of Abuse and Sexual Assault on a Child by One in a Position of Trust.

It is alleged that Starzyk, while working as an athletic trainer and substitute teacher for Hinkley High School in 2004, sexually assaulted a then 15-year-old male student on multiple occasions at places away from the school.

Starzyk came to the attention of authorities when school officials approached the School Resource Officer with concerns about her.

Starzyk turned herself in Friday afternoon at Aurora Police Headquarters and was subsequently held in the Aurora Detention Center on $20,000 bond.

Police said they believe there may be more victims involved with Starzyk and are asking anyone with information to contact Det. Chris Fanning at (303) 739-6096.

08/11/08 - Possible Plea Deal In the Works

Yvette Starzyk is reportedly considering a plea deal offered by prosecutors at a July 25th disposition hearing.

Reportedly Starzyk wished additional time to consider the offer and is expected to make her decision known at her next court appearance which is set for September 29th.

Frank Lee Pierce, 30, a teacher’s aide at Stober Elementary School in Lakewood, Colorado has been arrested in an Internet sex sting conducted by the Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office.

Pierce was arrested today on suspicion of Internet luring of a child, Internet sexual exploitation of a child and promotion of obscenity to a minor.

Pierce is alleged to have contacted on the Internet a Jefferson County district attorney investigator who was posing as a teenage girl under 15 years old and introduced inappropriate sexual content into the online conversation.

Pierce is being held in Jefferson County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail and has been placed on paid administrative leave by the school system.

05/20/08 - Guilty Plea

Frank Lee Pierce has pleaded guilty today.

Pierce faces up to six years in prison at sentencing which is set for August 8th.

08/08/08 - Sentencing

Frank Lee Pierce has been sentenced to three years sex offender intensive supervision probation.

Pierce is also required to register as a sex offender.

William Samuel Paxton, 42, a former music instructor and color-guard coach at five Jefferson County, Colorado schools has been arrested on allegations that he sexually assaulted female students.

Paxton, who taught at Arvada High School in 1995-1996, at Alameda High School in 2006-2007 and advised, volunteered or consulted at D’Evelyn, Jefferson and Lakewood high schools was arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

Reportedly investigators say that they became aware of the assaults and began looking into Paxton’s time at the five schools and believe that there may be more victims. Anyone with more information is urged to contact the tip line at 303-271-5612.

05/30/08 - Guilty Plea

Reportedly William Paxton has pleaded guilty to the sexual assault of a 17-year-old female student.

Paxton who faces up to 12 years in prison when he is sentenced in July will also serve 10 years to life of intensive supervision as a sex offender.

07/31/08 - Sentencing

William Paxton has been sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Following the completion of his prison sentence Paxton will be on probation from 10 years to life and under intensive supervision for sex offenders.

Matthew Lindholm, 32, a former teacher and girls basketball coach at Central High School in Grand Junction, Colorado has been arrested on allegations of sexually assaulting one of the team members.

Lindholm is charged with sexual assault on a child by one in a position of trust, and sexual assault on a child in a position of trust as a pattern of abuse.

Lindholm turned himself in at the Mesa County Jail on Wednesday evening, made an initial court appearance Thursday and was subsequently released on a $10,000 bond. He was required to were a Global Positioning System ankle monitor and is banned from the school.

It is alleged that Lindholm admitted that he kissed the girl romantically and touched her legs and buttocks once when they kissed. Both Lindholm and the alleged victim deny sexual intercourse ever took place between them.

Lindholm’s next court appearance is set for March 4th.

Lindholm resigned his coaching position earlier this month and is on administrative leave from his teaching position.

05/28/08 - Lindholm May Be Off Tracking Device Soon

Matthew Lindholm may be taken off a court-ordered tracking device. The DA’s office has indicated that Lindholm’s attorney will request such a change in his terms of bail at a court hearing on June 10th.

07/30/08 - Guilty Plea

Matthew Lindholm has pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted sexual assault.

Lindholm faces up to 6 years in prison when sentenced on October 6th.

He will be required to register as a sex offender for life.

Nefi Madrigal, 21, a former tutor at Orchard Mesa Middle School in Grand Junction, Colorado has pleaded guilty to sending an obscene image to a 14-year-old girl.

In exchange for the guilty plea prosecutors dropped a charge of felony Internet sexual exploitation of a child.

Authorities said that Madrigal sent nude photographs of himself to the girl via her cell phone.

Madrigal came to the attention of authorities when the girl showed pictures of Madrigal, one of which showed his genitalia, to a friend. The friend notified the school principal who called police who arrested Madrigal on May 16th.

When interviewed by police, the girl said she had sent several nude photos of herself to Madrigal, saying she had a “crush” on him.

Madrigal has been ordered to undergo a psychosexual evaluation.

Reportedly Madrigal will receive a four-year deferred judgment, which basically amounts to probation.
