Evan Stecklair, a former teacher at Foothills Christian High School in El Cajon, California who in September pleaded guilty to one count of sending harmful material to a minor with the intent to seduce has been sentenced.

Reportedly, Stecklair has been sentenced to 180 days in a work furlough program and ordered to register as a sex offender.

Under the terms of Stecklair’s sentence, he will have to work all day and report to a supervised dormitory living area at night. Reportedly during his sentence, Stecklair is not allowed to go anywhere other than work and the dormitory.

At the sentencing hearing, prosecutors revealed the nature of some of text messages Stecklair sent the victim including one that alleged read: “I wish you were naked and sitting on my lap.”, another in which it was alleged that Stecklair asked the girl to take a picture of herself in the shower and in a third where prosecutors say that Stecklair asked his victim what she would do if he ripped her clothes off.

Stecklair was arrested and charged in May and has been free on $50,000 bond since.

Both the victim in this case and her friends have raised allegations that they have been ostracized after the victim came forward and telling the truth about what happened to her.

Jerry Wesley Kight, 42, a former teacher at the Mountain Area Christian Academy in Morganton, Georgia has reportedly pleaded guilty to sexually assaulting a 15-year-old female student.

Kight pleaded guilty to a charge of sexual assault in plea deal under which charges of child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes were dropped.

As a result of his guilty plea, Kight was sentenced to four years in prison to be followed by 21 years probation and lifetime registration as a sex offender.

Also, Kight can no longer work as a teacher or have any unsupervised contact with children under the age of 18, nor can he reside or be in or near an area where children congregate.

Kight who was arrested on July 24, 2008 had been free on $30,000 bond.

Amy Northcutt, 26, a former history teacher at Turlock Christian School in Turlock, California along with husband Justin Northcutt was arrested in early June on suspicion of distribution or exhibition of lewd material to a minor and annoying or molesting a child under 18.

The Northcutts are alleged to have sent sexually explicit cell phone messages and photos to a 16-year-old female student in an effort to arrange group sex with the girl.

The Stanislaus County district attorney’s office indicated on Tuesday that the Northcutts will face criminal charges although the exact nature of the charges was not revealed.

The Northcutts came to the attention of authorities by way of the girl’s mother, reportedly after Justin Northcutt was spotted talking to the alleged victim while she attended a family gathering.

Following her arrest Amy Northcutt was released on $10,000 bail.

Reportedly Amy Northcutt resigned from the school prior to her attest.

07/31/08 – Felony Charge Filed

According to the Modesto Bee, the Northcutts have been each been charged with a single felony count of “harmful matter sent with intent of seduction of a minor”.

The Northcutts are scheduled for arraignment on September 3rd.

10/09/08 – Court Appearance

Justin and Amy Northcutt made a court appearance yesterday and entered not guilty pleas on individual felony counts of harmful matter sent with intent of seduction of a minor.

The Northcutts are scheduled to be back in court on December 17.

12/17/08 – Amy Northcutt Misses Court Date

Amy Northcutt was scheduled to be in court today but was absent.

Northcutt’s attorney told the judge that she recently gave birth to a baby and couldn’t appear in court today.

Judge Timothy Salter set the couple’s next court date for February 27.

10/02/09 – No Contest Plea

Amy Northcutt has pleaded no contest in Stanislaus County Superior Court to felony charges after being accused of trying to arrange group sex with a 16-year-old student.

Under the terms of the plea deal, Amy Northcutt pleaded no contest to one felony count of “harmful matter sent with intent of seduction of a minor” and will serve two months in jail.

She will be required to register as a sex offender.

The Northcutts will be eligible to have their charges reduced to misdemeanors after three years on probation.

10/28/09 – Formal Sentencing

Amy Northcutt has been sentenced to two months in jail, ordered to register as sex offender and attend sex offender counseling and stay away from the victim.

Northcutt must report to jail by the end of November.
