(8/11/07 – Initial BBT Report)

Brett Kyser, 33, an automotive teacher at Erie 1 BOCES, in West Seneca, New York has been arrested and charged with ten counts of forcible touching and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child in a case alleging three minors as victims.

All offenses with which Kyser is charged are reportedly Class A misdemeanors.

Reportedly, complaints regarding Kyser were lodged with the school in May at which time Kyser was placed on leave, however parents were not notified until late July.

The news media learned of the case thanks to a tip from a parent.

Few additional details are available.

Kyser is the second West Seneca, New York teacher arrested recently. Last week Anthony Harper, a French teacher at West Seneca East Middle School, was accused of having a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old boy.

2/24/08 – Plea Deal

Brett Kyser, charged with 10-counts of forcible touching after being accused of groping three female students has entered a plea deal with prosecutors in which he pleaded guilty to two counts of endangering the eelfare of a child.

As part of the plea deal Kyser will surrender his New York State Teaching Certificate.

Sentencing is set for May 13th.

Jason Andrew Hounshell, 31, a former agriculture teacher teacher at Fort Chiswell High School, in Max Meadows, Virginia has been charged for having sex with a 16-year-old female student.

Hounshell has been charged in Wythe County with contributing to the delinquency of a minor, a misdemeanor.

He has been charged in Pulaski County with two counts of taking indecent liberties with a child while being in a custodial position which are felonies.

Media reports indicate that investigators in both counties are continuing their investigations and that additional charges may follow as they feel that the alleged relationship lasted a significant period of time.

Hounshell, who is reportedly married, came to the attention of authorities by way of a tip that he was involved in an inappropriate relationship with a student. The tip came from another student who reportedly brought it to the attention of a school resource officer.

Following his arrest last week, Hounshell was released on $8,000 bond.

Reportedly Hounshell, who has been employed with Wythe County Public Schools as a teacher for nine years, has resigned from the school system.

Hounshell has a preliminary trial date of October 23 on the misdemeanor charge.

He is the third Wythe County teacher to be charged with sex crimes involving students.

11/19/07 – Grand Jury To Hear Case and Trial Set

The Pulaski County case of Jason Andrew Hounshell arrested on on the two felony counts of taking indecent liberties with a child while in a supervisory relationship is being heard by a grand jury which convened today.

He is set for trial in December 13th in Wythe County on a misdemeanor count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

2/14/08 – Plea Deal and Sentence

Jason Andrew Hounshell was supposed to go to trial today on two counts of taking indecent liberties with a minor. Instead he entered a plea deal with prosecutors, pleaded guilty to a reduced count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. As a result he was sentenced to one year in jail, suspended and was ordered to perform 100 hours of community service and have no contact with the girl until she turns 18.

Kolton Kock, 26, a former vocational agricultural teacher at Burnt River High School, in Unity, Oregon has been arrested on accusations that he sexually abused a 16-year-old female student.

Kock allegedly had sexual contact with the student between May 21 and June 2 of this year.

Reportedly Kock resigned his teaching position in May and the school board accepted his resignation in a June meeting. The Burnt River High School job was reportedly Kock’s first teaching position.

Reportedly, the superintendent of the school district reported the allegations against Kock to the Oregon Teacher Standards and Practices Commission, the Department of Human Services Child Welfare Program and law enforcement.

Following his arraignment in Baker County court, Kock was granted a “conditional release”.
