Michelle Marie Francoeur, 37, a teacher at Shell Lake School in Shell Lake, Saskatchewan has been charged after an RCMP investigation into a complaint she was having an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 15-year-old former male student.

RCMP have charged Francoeur with one count of sexual touching, one count of sexual exploitation and one count of sexual assault.

Francoeur came to the attention of the Spiritwood RCMP owing to a complaint on December 3rd. Reportedly the complaint stated that the relationship stretched between September 1 and November 30, 2008.

A spokesperson for Saskatchewan Rivers School Division says the teacher has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the case.

Francoeur is scheduled to make her first court appearance on January 27 in Spiritwood court.

03/24/09 – Not Guilty Plea

The attorney for Michelle Marie Francoeu entered a not guilty plea on her today to one count of sexual touching, one count of sexual exploitation and one count of sexual assault.

A preliminary hearing date has been set for Oct. 27 in Spiritwood Provincial Court.

Christopher Neil, 32, a schoolteacher from Maple Ridge, B.C., Canada who pleaded guilty to sexually abusing a 13-year-old boy in Thailand is awaiting sentencing.

A Bangkok court announced the sentencing date Monday, setting August 15th as the date when Neil will learn his fate.

Neil faces up to 10 years in prison at sentencing.

On October 7th Neil is set to go to trial on similar charges involving the teen’s brother, who was nine at the time of the alleged offense. Those charges carry with them a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.

Neil came to the attention of authorities when Interpol launched an investigation after some 200 photos were posted online showing a man sexually abusing at least a dozen Vietnamese and Cambodian boys, some as young as six.

The face of the perpetrator was digitally obscured by a swirling shape, but for the first time German police computer experts were able to help Interpol unscramble the image. Neil was identified by one of his alleged victims and was arrested 11 days later following a world-wide search.

08/15/08 – Sentencing

Christopher Neil has been sentenced to three years and three months in prison in Thailand.

The court in Bangkok reduced Neil’s sentence Friday from six years and six months, citing his confession in May.

Neal must also pay a fine of about $2,000.

11/24/08 – Sentencing In Second Case

Christopher Paul Neil has been found guilty of sexually abusing a second Thai boy and has been sentenced to an additional six years in prison and an additional fine of about $1,800.

Neil’s second sentence was pronounced about 10 days ago at an unscheduled and unannounced court hearing. The details of the sentence were made public on Monday.

Robert Judge, 58, a teacher at Etobicoke Collegiate Institute, in Toronto, Canada has been charged with indecent assault, involving students from 30 years ago.

Judge has been rearrested in connection with three sexual assaults that allegedly occurred between 1978 and 1984.

It is alleged that Judge indecently assaulted three male students between the ages of 15 and 20.

All of the sexual assaults are alleged to have occurred when the boys went to the teacher’s home on different occasions.

Judge has a court date set for July 24th.
