James W. Young, 33, a band teacher at Clinton High School in Clinton, Iowa was arrested Thursday in an Internet sex sting after he allegedly attempted to meet a 14-year-old girl for sex at a DeWitt, Iowa hotel.

Young has been charged with attempt to entice away a minor. The charge is an aggravated misdemeanor carrying a maximum sentence of two years in prison.

It is alleged that Young communicated with the undercover officer posing as a 14-year-old girl, set up a meeting at the hotel, discussed performing an illegal sex act with the girl and then traveled to the hotel at the designated meeting time.

Young has been placed on suspension with pay by the school system.

Following his arrest Young was released on bond on the condition he has no contact with anyone 18-years-old or younger on the Internet.

12/16/08 - Young Arrested On Federal Charges

James Young has been arrested on federal charges of attempting to entice a minor to engage in illicit sexual activities.

Young was arrested on Monday by federal authorities, appeared in U.S. District Court in Davenport and was being detained pending a full detention hearing.

If convicted of the federal charges Young faces a statutory penalty of 10 years to life imprisonment and a fine not to exceed $250,000.

Scott W. Bradley, 51, a former music teacher at Kendall Jr./Sr. High School in Kendall, New York has been arrested and charged on allegations that he had an inappropriate relationship with a female student.

It is alleged that Bradley communicated regularly with a female student on a personal and sexual level. It is further alleged that Bradley also had sexual relations with the student.

Bradley who faces a misdemeanor charge of official misconduct resigned from the school in June when school officials became aware of the allegations and turned the investigation over to the Orleans County Sheriff’s Office.

Following his arrest and initial appearance in court Bradley was released on his own recognizance.

Bradley’s next court appearance is set for December 22.

Joe Wayne Gilbreth, 42, a former color guard instructor at Westwood High School in Austin, Texas has reportedly been charged with with soliciting sex from a16-year-old former student.

It is alleged that Gilbreth, who currently works for the Magnolia Independent School District as a color guard director, communicated with the boy via Facebook beginning in October. It is further alleged that Gilbreth and the boy exchanged sexually-explicit messages on Facebook and later via cell phones.

Gilbreth has been charged with online solicitation of a child and allegedly confessed to exchanging inappropriate messages with the boy on December 10th.

Reportedly Gilbreth came to the attention of police when by boy turned him in.

Gilbreth faces the possibility of up to 10 years in prison if convicted of the third-degree felony.
