Alfonso Padilla, 36, a computer teacher at Coolidge High School in Coolidge, Arizona has reportedly been arrested on allegations of possessing child pornography on his computer.

Padilla was arrested Thursday at the shool on suspicion of 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a minor. It is alleged that more than 50 pornographic images of children younger than 13 were found on his personal computer.

Padilla came to the attention of authorities when his wife turned over his computer hard drive to an attorney during divorce proceedings. The lawyer upon seeing the alleged child pornography, turned the hard drive over to Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies.

According to a press release from the Sheriff’s office, during an interview with deputies Padilla admitted that he was previously terminated from Higley High School about three years ago for inappropriate conduct with a minor through the use of a computer.

Following his arrest, Padilla was being held in the Maricopa County jail in lieu of $63,000 bond.

Sixto Rocabado Jr, 31, a former bus driver and assistant wrestling coach at Antelope Union High School in Wellton, Arizona was sentenced Thursday in Yuma County Superior Court to 1.5 years in prison with credit for time previously served for sexual abuse of a 15-year-old female student.

Rocabado was arrested on February, 27th 2009 on multiple charges includeding aggravated assault, custodial interference, kidnapping, sexual abuse and sexual assault. Bail was set in excess of $200,000, which Rocabado made on March 27th and he was released from the Yuma County Jail.

On August 27th, Rocabado pleaded guilty to sexual abuse and luring counts in a plea agreement with prosecutors.

Rocabado came to the attention of authorities when the victim’s parents complained about inappropriate messages left by Rocabado on their daughter’s MySpace Web page.

Once out of prison, Rocabado will be on probation for the rest of his life and will be required to register as a sex offender.

Guilty

Emili Kay Daniels, 34, a biology teacher at American Heritage Academy in Cottonwood, Arizona has been arrested on allegations of having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old male student.

Daniels was arrested Thursday and is charged with three counts of sexual conduct with a minor.

It is alleged that Daniels began the relationship with the boy in October, 2008 and that in November the relationship became sexual.

It is further alleged that at least 3 sexually related incidents occurred in or around the classroom.

Daniels came to the attention of authorities when the school principal attempted to enter Daniels classroom and found the door was locked.

Allegedly after unlocking the door, the principal saw Daniels and the boy near the teacher’s desk and that the student’s pants were undone, exposing his underwear.

The principal then called the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office.

Reportedly both Daniels and the student initially denied any sexual relationship however on the following day the boy admitted that since October he had a relationship with Daniels.

Following her arrest, Daniels was being held in the Camp Verde Detention Center.

03/12/09 – Court Appearance

Emili Kay Daniels made an appearance in early disposition court and chose not to waive the preliminary hearing.

The judge set a preliminary hearing for March 13th.

The alleged victim’s guardians requested and the judge granted an order prohibiting Daniels any contact with the boy.

03/26/09 – Grand Jury Indictment

Emili Kay Daniels has been indicted by a grand jury on three counts of sexual conduct with a minor and one count of attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

Daniels appeared before Judge Tina Ainley on March 12 for an Early Disposition Court hearing. However Daniels chose not to waive a preliminary hearing, which was scheduled for the following day. The judge warned that scheduling a preliminary hearing does not pre-empt a possible grand jury indictment and that is what took place.

Daniels is scheduled for a case management conference in mid-April and is reportedly free on $20,000 bond.

04/21/09 – Case Management Conference Postponed

The Verde Independent reports that the case management conference scheduled for today was continued until June.

It is also being reported that the prosecution has offered Daniels a plea deal, the details of which were not released.

08/13/09 – Guilty Plea

Emili Kay Daniels has reportedly pleaded guilty to one count sexual conduct with a minor and three counts of attempted sexual conduct with a minor.

Sentencing is set for September 22nd and Daniels faces a maximum sentence of twelve and a half years on the sexual conduct with a minor count and a maximum of eight and three-quarter years on the remaining counts.

09/24/09 – Sentencing

Emili Kay Daniels has been sentenced to three-and-a-half years in prison.

Once released from prison she will be on a lifetime supervised probation.

Daniels is also prohibited contact with anyone younger than 18 years of age other than her own children.
