Jason Lyn Gasque, 31, a math teacher and coach at Speake High School in Danville, Alabama was arrested Wednesday morning on allegations that he inappropriately touched a female student.

Gasque is charged with first-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony and is punishable by 1-10 years in prison if convicted.
Gasque is accused of having inappropriate contact with a 16-year-old female student twice in a two-month period. The alleged victim told investigators that the contact occurred after school on school grounds.
It is alleged that Gasque kept the student after school where he made advances toward her and touched her.
Reportedly the school system has placed Gasque on administrative leave with pay pending the outcome of the investigation.
Following his arrest, Gasque was released on $5,000 bond.
05/008/09 – Grand Jury Indictment
A Lawrence County grand jury has indicted Jason Gasque on a felony count of first-degree sexual abuse.
Gasque remains free on $5,000 bond and reportedly continues on administrative leave from the school system since his January arrest.
12/21/09 – Guilty Plea and Sentencing
Reportedly, Jason L. Gasque pleaded guilty on Friday to four counts of harassment.
Under the plea deal with prosecutors, Gasque was reportedly sentenced to three months in Community Corrections and two years probation.
In addition, Gasque must perform 80 hours of community service and never teach school again.
