Carolynn Hatcher, 25, a teacher and housemother at Midwestern Home for Children in the village of Pleasant Plain, Ohio has been charged on allegations that she had a sexual relationship with a 16-year-old male resident of the home and became pregnant with the teen’s child.
The alleged victim has run away creating an unusual dilemma for officials who don’t think they can enlist the public’s help to find him, since he’s both a foster child and an alleged sexual-abuse victim and both classes of individuals fall under privacy shield concerns.
Police have been searching for the boy since he fled on Saturday when a court-appointed special advocate took the boy to get ice cream at a shopping mall. The special advocate tracked the boy down initially but he then ran away again.
Hatcher came to the attention of authorities when another child living in the group home reported the relationship.
Hatcher has been indicted on six counts of sexual battery. The alleged crimes reportedly happened during April and May of this year. Hatcher, who worked at the facility with her husband was fired by the group home in June.
Hatcher, who is now reportedly in the midst of a divorce, posted $30,000 bond and was released Monday from the Warren County Jail and is reportedly staying with a friend.
Investigators for Children’s Services do not believe there are additional victims.
09/17/08 - Guilty Plea
Carolynn Hatcher pleaded guilty this morning in Warren County Common Pleas Court, Lebanon, to three charges of sexual battery.
In exchange for the guilty plea, prosecutors dropped three additional sexual battery charges.
Hatcher faces from one to five years in prison at sentencing.
She will be required to register as a sex offender for life.
11/05/08 - Sentencing
Carolynn Hatcher has been sentenced to three years in prison.
Judge James Flannery ordered Hatcher to turn herself into the sheriff’s office on February 10 for transportation to the state women’s prison. The delay in starting her prison sentence is to permit time for Hatcher to give birth to the child she conceived with the victim.
Hatcher will be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of her life.

It’a a mazing story. She had sex between 8th april and 8th may. If she was knocked up the 8th april, she’ll give birth the 8th january. A month later, she must be in prison. How can she feed the baby ? Why had she sex with the teenager without being on birth control ?

The boy’s parents signed over custody to the county in 2004 after officials learned he had been abused by his father. “Now he’s victimized again,” Fox said.
My heart goes out to this kid, damn, he has been pooped on, by the very people that should have been protecting him. He was signed over to the state because his father couldn’t keep his hands off him and his mother sides with the father.

Mrs. Hatcher is only facing 1-5 years. She is an evil person and then to get pregnant!!!
Hey, kid, if you ever read this, please don’t give up there are good Christians out there. Also running away is not the answer to your problems, believe it or not getting an education is the key to over come the bad that has happened to you.
