Carl Mason Jr., 22, of Haltom City, Texas and a former teacher at the Children’s Palace Christian Learning Center in Watauga, Texas has been sentenced to 40 years in prison following his guilty plea on seven charges of indecency with a child, two cases of sexual performance by a child and one case each of aggravated sexual assault of a child and possession of child pornography.
Investigators believe that Mason targeted four and five-year-old girls, molesting them during their naps.
It was alleged that one girl told police that Mason used a digital camera to photograph her “private parts” and showed her a pictures of his own privates on the same camera.
Mason came to the attention of police in September when the the parents of one of the children alerted them to the abuse. He had worked at the daycare school for two years at the time.
Mason must serve 20 years before becoming eligible for parole.
