Brian Scott, 34, of Chicago, musical director and founder of Chicago’s Rebirth of Liberty Gospel Choir and reportedly the volunteer sponsor/musical director of the gospel choir at Thornridge High School in Dolton, Illinois between 2002 and 2004 has been arrested on allegations of sexually assaulting a minor.

It is alleged that Scott sexually assaulted a 16-year-old female member of his choir three times during July 2006. The sexual assaults are alleged to have occurred in a park, in the basement of a church and at Scott’s home.
The girl, who had met Scott at church before auditioning for his choir informed her parents about the alleged abuse in 2006. Reportedly the girl’s parents confronted Scott who allegedly admitted the incidents to both the girl’s parents and the administrator of the choir.
Following his arrest Scott was held on $90,000 bail.
Reportedly Scott started the Rebirth of Liberty choir with many of the students he met through church and school.

Webmaster’s Note: Mr. Scott is NOT accused of any crime related to his volunteer work as sponsor/musical director of the gospel choir at Thornridge High School in Dolton, Illinois or a member thereof.
However since prior to his creation and work with the Rebirth of Liberty choir he was apparently working as a volunteer sponsor of an afterschool activity for high school students, that relationship with and proximity to students was deemed sufficient cause for listing on this site.
A check of the on-line employee roster for Thornridge High School DOES NOT indicate that Mr. Scott is a member of the school staff, nor is there any indication that he was ever employed by the school.
