Brenda Osborne, 42, a guidance counselor and volleyball coach at Xenia High School in Xenia, Ohio has reportedly been arrested on allegations of inappropriate sexual activity with a 17-year-old female student and volleyball player.
On Friday, Osborne was arraigned on three counts of sexual battery in Xenia Municipal Court and subsequently released on $7,500 bond.
It is alleged that Osborne had sexual contact with the girl off school grounds between July 1st and September 2nd.
Xenia Police said they would not release details of the incident, but did indicate that Osborne came to their attention on Wednesday and that an investigation was conducted which resulted in Osborne’s arrest on Thursday.
Reportedly, Osborne who has been with the school for over 10 years has been placed on paid administrative leave.
If convicted, Osborne reportedly faces up to five years in prison on each count.
10/04/09 – Court Appearance
Brenda Osborne made a court appearance last week at which she entered a plea of not guilty.
Osborne remains free on $7,500 bond with a required that she reports to adult probation while free.
She has a pre-trail hearing set for October 22nd.
